Fixing Wyches - Page 2 Empty

Been thinking about Wych Cult formations that would add just a little more flexability to the units and allow them to act as they should be able to whilst not making them OP and/or rewriting stats.  Here is my attempt


LEGENDS OF THE ARENA - Formation

FORMATION
• 1 Succubus (Or Lelith Hesperax)
• 1 Unit of Bloodbrides
• 2-5 Units of Wyches

Benefits

Dodge – With impossible reflexes and balletic grace the wych gladiators leap and twist around oncoming fire, evade blades and fists, and in glorious challenges are nigh untouchable.  All models in the formation have a 5+ Invulnerable save against Overwatch, a 4+ Invulnerable save in the Fight sub-phase, and a 3+ Invulnerable save in a challenge

Acrobatics – A model with this rule may add 1” to their run and charge moves.

Lightning Assault – All units in the Formation may embark and disembark normally from open topped vehicles that have moved at up to cruising speed and not just combat speed

Quick Escape! – Clinging lightly to the hulls of their transports, the wyches can leap to safety if things turn bad.  Any vehicle explodes result will trigger a Quick Escape in which each occupant immediately makes an emergency disembark as normal but also takes an Initiative test to avoid any damage

Restrictions

Mounted Assault – All units that can take a dedicated transport must do so, excluding the Succubus

Legends All – All units must take the maximum number of character upgrades



HELLION GANGS - Formation

FORMATION
• 3-5 Units of Hellions

Benefits

Fear – Swarming the battlefield with wild screams and furious assaults, striking from surprise and killing with callous disregard, all units in the formation cause fear

Insane Agility - Moving with inhuman speed and acrobatic prowess, the unit may use their Skyboards in the movement phase and the assault phase.  In addition they gain the move through cover special rule  

Restrictions

Gang Leaders – All units must take the maximum number of character upgrades



REAVER FLIGHT - Formation

FORMATION
• 3-5 Units of Reavers

Benefits

Peerless Speed – The Reaver Flight are the most accomplished pilots of the fastest bikes in the Webway.  Each model adds 3” to move, assault move and charge distances.  In addition the skilled rider special rule adds +2 to jink saves and not the normal +1

Restrictions

Flight Coordinators – All units must take the maximum number of character upgrades



DARK OLYMPIAD - Formation

FORMATION
• 1-3 Legends of the Arena formations
• 1-2 Hellion  Gangs formations
• 1-2 Reaver Flight formations
• 0-3 Units of Beastmasters

Benefits

Hunt From the Shadows – During the first game turn and any in which the Night Fighting rules are in effect, ALL units in the detachment have a +1 Cover save.  Additionally the roll to determine Night Fight is taken with a +1

Ambush! – All Fast attack units including those as part of an integral formation, can arrive from reserve with the Outflank special rule (or deep strike if they have that rule) and the reserve rolls for such units can be made with a +/-1 Modifier

Games of Death – The Wych cults live for mayhem and glorious conflict, and in their raids each Dark Eldar seeks to humiliate the enemy champions and defeat them with seeming ease.  All models in the Dark Olympiad that engage in a challenge consider their WS to be 1 higher whilst the challenge is ongoing

Restrictions

Glory Seekers – All character models must seek to issue and accept challenges where possible, such is their desire to impress their peers and heap glory and infamy on their name



The formations give Wyches the agility they should have, Hellions the tactical speed they should have, Reavers the ludicrous speed they should have...and the Olympiad allows the ambush to be controlled and the pursuit of glorious murder to be rewarded.  Note my re-take on the Hunt From Shadows rule
