Since my original plan failed due to a rules judgement here is my 2nd attempt at figuring out a good team up list for an upcoming GT. We each get 1k but must split a single force org chart.

Can you mix ICs between lists? Can you take Special Characters? Can any unit ride in any non dedicated transport regardless of list origin?

Also its been pointed out else where that the Psybolt ammo on the SR makes the hurricane bolters non defensive so I will be rethinking the list totally.

One trick to doubles is to find the naughtiness you can get away with and abuse it. With DE off the top of my head team up with daemons using fateweaver and sit him near vect/Archon and watch people cry as you get a re-rollable 2+ invul. I'm not sure on the wording but some similar shennanigans may be possible with Eldar as a team mate (though that rather depends on the exact wording of the psychic powers).

The other side is using your partner to shore up your weak points and vice versa ie shooty kabal combined with horde orks.

Which ever army you end up partnered with it is important that the players of both function as a team (discuss moves don't block each others fire lanes and be prepared to sacrifice your entire army to allow your partner to get the win and vice versa). Get in as many practice games as you can and realise your individual styles and weaknesses then work at eliminating them.
