I have understood that mandrakes are, if not useless so at least very hard to make good use of. However, how do you think they would work in a Kill Team list? (200 pts, every model work alone, no HQ or vehicles, at least 1 troops)

They are fast, can infiltrate and works good with cover, and each guy only needs to kill one model (with infiltrate and S4, shouldn't be too hard?) to get FnP and a pinning shooting attack. Something like this:
5 Mandrakes, Nightfiend - 85

10 Warriors, Dark Lance (good object holder while picking out enemies easy) - 115

or perhaps

5 Mandrakes - 75

10 Wyches, two with Hydra Gauntlets - 120

I'd like to try it out.

I've just posted a list in the army list section that attempts to find a use for the much malgined mandrake. In my version I use them as an anti-scouting unit or outflanking annoyance. I think that you may be right in a kill teams game they could be useful if not quite deadly.

I've used Mandrakes as escorts for a Haemonculus. Deploy the Haemi, then infiltrate the Mandrakes near or on top of him.

The Haemi gains stealth in cover and the Mandrakes gain a pain token and their Baleblast.

They won't be joined untill after one of your movement phases, since you can omly join in the movement phase or prior to deployment.

One use could be to infiltrate where you want, but with a tail of Mandrakes that the Haemonculi can reach in his first movement, thus joining and giving mutual benefits.

Might be wrong, but in KZ you can only get a single Token a turn. Not bad, but it does limit how quickly your guys can get them.

But Mandrakes might be good in it.

I still think Mandrakes are best coming out a WWP with a Haemonculus attatched. A large squad with their FnP and BB right away at least has a chance to make an impact, and since you actually want to shoot with them the Haemonculus isn't a FoF burden like with some units. Still, just not a great squad.
