Greetings

Hi folks,

New UK player, new to 8th but not new to the setting. Last time I played was 4th edition!

Tried AOS after 10 years of playing Warmachine and hating the new edition, but something didn't feel right.

Quit the hobby as a whole a few months ago but gave in to the itch again last week.

Hoping to be an active member, as I bought a bunch of Eldar stuff simply to paint but fancy giving the game a go too.

I was the same with AoS, had five armies, now I have two minor forces for in case they make it playable again. Points have helped but its still a shell of the game it was, 9th Age is much better if you haven't given that a go.

As for 8th Edition 40K, I'm really enjoying it, they have learned from their mistakes with AoS and streamlined the game in some fun ways, yes some shenanigans need to be ironed out but with the pretty frequent errata's most things don't last long.

This is a great place to live and share the hobby. And if you give the Dark Kin a shot, you'll see it's a fantastic army, in every aspect of the hobby : great to build and paint, great lore, great to play...

I think quite some of us are in that boat, after AoS hit I also quit warhammer (I more or less switched to kings of war) and restarted 40k.

AOS didn't last long for me tbh, nothing there to keep me interested.

Picked up a Farseer Skyrunner, 3x boxes of windriders, 2 boxes of wraithguard and two wave serpents to start with - stuff i fancied painting.

I realise this is the lighter side, but they're all the same kin now right?

Also picking up a sizeable Harlequin force on Saturday

Definitely not the same kin as those patsies, but as long as you stir in some of the Trueborn, then i guess you can hang with the cool kids
