It's the first major tournament of 2018 and that means every meta-setter, wanna-be, and all around jackwagon is gonna be flying out to Vegas to play with tiny plastic space men. This of course is the gambling capital of the USA so naturally bets are flying fast and hard over what to expect this year. Here are a few of my favs:
1: Josh Death's dog will maul someone.
2: At least 2 lists in the top 8 will be inaccurate and at least 1 will have discrepancies bad enough to warrant judge intervention.
Two people in the top 8, including Josh Death, forfeit their spot due to cheating regarding the rules of the models in their lists.
3: Someone will concede on a seize.
4: A veteran tourney player will use only Battlescribe to make their list.
5: Within 2 weeks of the LVO a new FAQ will be released to fix some game-breaking exploit witnessed on the stream, interrupting GW's nascent update schedule.
Nick Nanavati's list is using a RAW exploit involving an Alaitoc detachment unlocking the Saim-Hann stratagems for Ynnari. Expect an FAQ in 2 weeks time.
6: Someone will be caught cheating on the stream.
Confirmed on stream someone using a Stormraven Gunship as a Fire Raptor.
7: At least 10% of submitted lists will not have taken something from Chapter Approved into account.
Multiple independent verified accounts of Chapter Approved changes to rules not being taken into account, including the Josh Death incident.
8: Someone in the top 50 will have never played 8th edition prior to entering the LVO tournament.
9: Someone will submit a 7th edition list.
10: Dakkadakka, Competitive 40k, BoLS, etc. will spend the following 3 weeks angrily debating what to do about cheaters in the 40k scene and blame everything on the TO/Judges.
