2k pure Dark Eldar could use advise

I am using pretty much all of the models I have. I have more raiders than I have in the list and a few jetbikes and hellions but not a fan of them. I also have Drazhar which I could put with the Incubi if needed to boost them.

This comes out to 2k points on the nose. I have the archons and incubi in one raider to have an assault element to the list. The rest of the list is designed to shoot anything I face off the table from the safety of transports. The scourges drop in and do their work on any high wound target. The amount of dark lances I have to bring on targets should make any knight list or any vehicle/high wound list weep in terror.

I have 14 CP to spend and the ability to CP farm.

Appreciate any criticism and comments. I have been slowly putting my DE list back together again for 8th and wanting to try them out.

Drazhar is for fun only, he isnt very good at all and doesnt buff anything as there are almost no -1 to hits in melee and PFP already gives Incubi +1 to hit. He is just an overcosted HQ with 0 purpose. He is fundamentally broken.

He also only is 1D +1str power sword, completely worthless, sure he fights twice, but 4 or 6 attacks at str 4-5 and with a power weapon? VS Marines he does 1.4-2.2 wounds, so he kills 2-4 marines after fighting twice.. or he kills a total of 6 guardsmen after fighting twice. Not very good for a Named melee character that is worth 120pts.

Ok...first list is better then? Is it playable? I showed it to one of my friends that plays only Black Legion and he said he would refuse to play a list with that many dark lances in it.

It's so sad, but amishprn86 is right. Drazhar is awful. It's actually my only complaint about incubi. If his stats and his buff were better, I would be a lot more inclined to run him with some incubi at tournaments. If he doesn't charge, Drazhar isn't much better than the Klaivex, which is a 16 point model. Even if his buff was changed to re-roll 1s to hit like the archon and they gave him a point reduction, that would be nice. Or better yet, re-roll 1s to wound or +1 Strength or something like that. He does looks really cool though.

Another question: can we run 4 Archons in a list or are we restricted to just 3 because of the rule of 3?

Rule of 3 is for 2k points (1k its rule of 2, 3k its rule of 4) and its actually oly for organized play, you need to talk to your local if the house rule the Ro3 for matched play.

Changed my list a little to make it work under the no more than 3 Archons rule. I know Drazhar isn't optimal but unless someone gives me some options in my list to use other than him I'm kinda stuck for HQ choice. I do have Leleith and Urieth (spelling) as characters.

Overall seems like a decent pure kabal list, but I do think you need to shift around some units between the battalions. The big thing is the ravagers need to be in the black heart detachment, they are the unit that benefit most from the writ of the living muse relic and if they don't have the black heart trait, it won't affect them.

The other thing to keep in mind is what trait you want the transports to benefit from. If you keep them flayed skull, both the transports and the passengers ignore cover, while if you make them black heart you get the +6 injured to suffering save, but no ignores cover for the vehicle or passengers. Personally I'm a flayed skull fan, I won't ever run anything as black heart but if we're talking purely effectiveness here, the case can definetly be made for the +6 save being more useful. Up to you really.

One last thing, dark lances are really not a good choice on scourges anymore, not when you want to deep strike them in and have the to hit penalty when they drop. Blasters are good, but I personally prefer to keep them real cheap with haywire blasters or shredders.
