I just read this article (klick) and I thought: "Hey!! This could be nice!"
500pts, no monsters, no vehicles. Small corridors, some rooms filled with, well, stuff. Thats a nice, klaustrophobic and bloody mix of standard 40k and Killteam. Whats more? It just might be, that we have some pretty neat toys for this scenario. Incubi should be even deadlier, hiding around a corner, safe from initial fire. Hellions count as Infantry. Super fast Infantry. The possibilities are obvious.
I think, I just start to tinker a bit with a 500pts limit, to see whats possible.

with a friend, one day we decided that instead of playing a 2000pts games, we would play a bunch of small skirmish game of 500pts, in the 40k setup and ruling. And we seriously had a lot of fun! We built like 3 or 4 different list each.

We need the rules first.

Here is my second attempt. This time its more the slow, steady, but waaay fierce way of dling it.

It's definitely very punchy. I sort of think the Haem might still do you better than Draz simply because with the corridors and all it would make it easier to use the Grots as meat shields and take advantage of the healing capability of the Haem vs. having another brawler.
My other thought is wondering if the Ossefactor would be worth it. I suppose it depends on the board setup but it seems like a lot of the time it wouldn't be worth the points.

So, no vehicles, monsters, bikes, or jump units allowed in a Boarding Actions detachment. Really, I expected this - I didn't think that jetbikes and hoverboards would make too much sense flying down tight corridors.
The detachment is: 0-1 HQ 0-3 Troops 0-3 Elites

You can also bring Corsairs, since there are no compulsory slots. Convert up an archon as Sliscus, and bring some corsairs (and some other units - incubi/wyches/etc) to represent a Sky Serpent boarding party.

Or Wracks and Grots. Could be deadly in these areas.

There is an image of the rules for DE in the DE FB group.
You can take clawed fiends and kymerae, despite not being able to take a beastmaster.
If you take at least one kabalite warrior unit, one wyche unit, and one wrack unit, you can choose one of each type of obsession.
You can't take any Lords of Commoragh upgrades.
If you take Court of the Archon, it can only be a unit consisting of one of each model.

Models - friend or foe - block line of sight. So you can basically only shoot the closest unit and make sure you don't block your own fire lines off.

Hopefully models can see through the other models in their own unit.

Interesting idea but seems a bit awkward for us, given that we have to either go mono-subfaction or else include one of each troop choice to actually get subfaction bonuses.
I'm also unclear on why Lords of Commoragh upgrades aren't allowed at all, whereas equivalent abilities in other armies are instead merely limited to 1-per-army.
Court of the Archon is only permissible if it sucks arse, which is always a fun limitation.
The idea of a Succubus charging through hallways with a pack of beasts is a pretty awesome idea. Pity the Succubus does nothing for beasts. And that the one character that can buff them in any way isn't allowed. And that beasts suck.
Anyway, the base rules look fine and it seems like a fun idea. I think I'd just prefer to play it with an army that isn't so hamstrung by its individual army-building rules.
