Holo fields: worth it?

Bought a Falcon cheap on Ebay yesterday. Never used one, never had the opportunity to field one and was wondering: are holo fields worth it? On the Eldar Online forum the beginners tactica seems to list them as a mandatory upgrade. I'm used to the Wave Serpent energy field being pretty butch, but have no experience with the Falcon. Your thoughts?

YES.
Holofields are definitely worth it; at least in my opinion there's no doubt.

Consider it for a moment: you may get a penetrating hit on your falcon/fire prism. If you have holofields, your opponent have to roll two dices - he might get a 6, and a 1. Only the 1 counts, very nice I think.

Falcons and Fire Prisms are the only 2 units where Holo Fields are definately worth it.

Not that there are many other vehicles in the codex that can take it, of course.

You can get it on Vypers but it isn't worth it on them. Falcons and Fire Prism are vehicles worth paying the points for the Holo Field.

I wouldnt put them on Fire Prisms either, ad 2 d6 3~4 is the average, and once that fire prism cannon is gone, the tank is pretty much useless...

On a falcon though they are pretty much mandatory. Even with an outdated codex, Falcons are the hardest tank to kill in the game.
