A long time ago, there was a discussion that the roleplay section should have non-combat focussed areas, such as retail sites, weapons stores and so on, run by NPCs for players who needed to get equipment or use a neutral place for an in-character deal. This thread is my attempt to provide an NPC Homunculus for those times when characters want to have some work done, a little fixing up of inconvenient wounds, and such things. PM me if you would like a thread for your character/s with the Haemonculus' workshop, and I'll see what I can do. Chat roleplay may be possible but requires so much more coordination; I'm on GMT but I keep funny hours. This is strictly for background flavour, playing out "How the character got their scars fixed / new eyes / enhanced senses" threads and suchlike, not raging gun battles. Just so you know
Mistress Selventhrane also expects a payment for work done. And Haemonculi, as the saying goes, do not always want coin ...
Here is the basic information about the Haemonculus. I will try to add to it as time and inspiration allow.
Master Haemonculus – Coven of the Remade HelixVriss Selventhrane (f)A gaunt, lofty being, Vriss is currently a disturbingly cadaverous beauty, if one can appreciate the craft of the Flesh-Sculptors as they do. She wears her skin in a pale shade that is closer to the pearly grey of a dying moon than a true Eldar, and her beady black eyes sit under artfully arched brows. Vriss’ mouth is lipless, the tiny sensory nerve endings of her lips having been relocated to two small feelers, soft, finger-width adornments either side of her temples. Like other Haemonculi she is thin, carefully stylised bones visible in her frame where the workmanlike skinsuit and apron do not cover it. Always booted, Vriss has tiny feet, elevated in high heels so that her toes barely touch the ground. To keep the swaying dance of her movement aloft, she is assisted by gravitic suspensors in her belt and the clasps of her sleeveless coat. Vriss’ sense of style permits her to enjoy sweeping down to her experiments in the manner, as she puts it, ‘of a ministering angel’.
A curious sense of almost maternal solicitude has been observed to pervade Vriss’ attitude to her favourites. These can include both her latest works and current Wracks, but she is capricious, or perhaps it is simply that the changing progression of her projects is too great for most to follow. Whatever the case, a Dark Eldar who has caught Vriss’ interest may be assured of work of the highest standard, given that they can bear the close regard of one as detached and peculiar as the Master Haemonculus.
Mistress Selventhrane is in service to the Archon of the Kabal of Night's Destruction, Ascaron. So long as she is loyal - and there is no question about her devotion to her position in his Kabal - Ascaron does not care what Vriss does in her spare time, so long as it does not work to his detriment. Vriss’ relation to Ascaron is the subject of some debate. On one side are those who believe that the Haemonculus has something of an infatuation with the Archon, citing as evidence the care she brings to all his projects and the countless little extra details she always adds to exceed his expectations. Others see these as the natural desire of a craftsman to live up to their own high standards, and her solicitous attentions no more than the play-acting expected from one in service to the lord of a powerful Kabal. In either case, Vriss' results speak for themselves, which cannot always be said of those who displease her.
Wracks belonging to Mistress Selventhrane:Vriss has a number of apprentice Wracks, all of whom show some promise but need extensive further tuition. They tend to be altered to suit her needs of the time.

The Workshops of Mistress SelventhraneThe first thing one sees on approaching the spire in which Mistress Selventhrane is pleased to make her abode is that it forms a part of the heart of the territory of her beloved Archon's Kabal, the Kabal of Night's Destruction. The towering edifice rises like a jagged tooth, jutting high into the air and wreathed about with shrouding clouds and flittering Scourges. There are two walkways leading from the main mass of the Kabal's fortress, one wide and pedestrian at the base, the other high and slender like the thread drawn between life and death.
Should one approach further, there are guards (of course) but those with business and the proper introductions may be safely escorted into the spacious foyer, high-ceilinged and lofty with hard couches upholstered in shades of Tau blue and grey. Here one may be received by one of Mistress Selventhrane's Wracks and escorted to the chambers of the workshop itself.
The Regeneration CrucibleSometimes vulgarly known as
The Cathedral of Pain, the Crucible is a circular chamber lined with tire upon tier of rising rings of sarcophagi in which those of Ascaron's Kabal in need of regeneration slowly reform. The chamber's nickname comes from the work carried out on the sunken floor on which its excruciation tables are arranged. Upon these Vriss works her arts of suffering with the skill of a true artist. Here she displays her consummate skill in tuning the pitch of screams, producing the delicious music of pain that Ascaron once called 'a symphony of suffering'. A blend of practicality and recreation, the Crucible is where one may find Mistress Selventhrane after a particularly long or demanding day.
The MewsLocated near the top of the spire, the Mews is the suite where Mistress Selventhrane makes her fine adjustments on those who have come to be made into Scourges. Kabalites and wealthy patrons who wish to be refashioned with the wings of angels or daemons undergo the lengthy and gratifyingly painful process in chambers leading off from the central area, a high dome with the space for test flights and the display of some of her finest work.
Mistress Selventhrane's Personal WorkshopGenerally off limits to all save her Archon and Wracks, Vriss' personal workshop is where she conducts all of her most favoured projects and those requiring the greatest delicacy. The workshop is large, but arranged according to an arcane scheme of her own and apt to look cluttered to onlookers. The sight of Mistress Selventhrane hovering among her creations, beatifically stooping to administer an elixir here, a surgical cut there, is one to warm the black heart of any technician of pain. Vriss sometimes sleeps here amid her work, cocooned in the knowledge of her achievements and the sweet scent of agony.
