Resurrection of The Shadow Kabal

Hi guys,

I started DE in 3rd edition and now thanks to the new releases am now going to finish my army. My Kabal will be a mixture of new and old models and even though I do have old converted characters I couldn't pass on the opportunity to create some new ones. So here is a wip taste of what I'm upto

Archon (Novas Drascea) Lord of the Shadows:
I believe the Eldar translation is roughly hawk shadow lord, as my original archon had a sky board.

I have been tearing apart my old scourges and made this as a bit of a concept










I have a dangerous obsession with wanting to convert characters which tends to deviate me from concentrating on the bulk of my army so I'm hoping a bit of a project log will help motivate me. We'll see....

Bit of an update. More modeling. I have also started testing colour schemes so painting is just around the corner. Not sure whether to repaint my old ones or leave them as is. What is the process for stripping paint, anyone had much success with this?

For stripping minis, I've found that using commercial degreasers from hardware stores is the cheapest and best solution to stripping plastics. I don't have experience with stripping resin/Finecast using this method, but have stripped hundreds safely.

I soak the minis in a bucket or container for a week, use a toothbrush to scrup the paint under running water, repeat if necessary.

For all metal minis you can separate them from the plastic components and put them in acetone for 10-15 min. The paint immediately sloughs off. No plastic though!

IMHO for stripping minis the best solution is a break fluid. Just use DOT-3, not DOT-4 and the models will be fine. Leave them in the fluid for an hour and then brush them (still in the fluid container), then wash them in soapy water.

Oh, forgot about the brake fluid method. It works! And yes, DOT-3 only.
