| Hi all,
I used to be heavily into 40k back a long long time ago when Terminators had just gotten 3+ on 2D6 saves and Squats were like dwarf Hells Angels with attitude (otherwise known as 1995) and I started when it was called Rogue Trader and you could get incredibly personalised warbands of such oddities as Ork Genestealer hybrid cults.
Life, girls, uni and work pulled me away but I'm back partly because I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed painting but found reason to start again! I got back in as something I could do in the same room whilst the little lady finished her thesis in peace.
I'm amazed by the levels of information and tips now at our fingertips on the interwebs... strangely, just as I quit I was painting for extra pocket change and now there are companies doing it professionally!!!
I decided that Dark Eldar presented the best modelling and painting potential so I've been glueing and painting a lot the last month or two and my skills seem to be returning thankfully.
I'm a bit of the ways down the road with a ton of modelling done and some painting so I'll probably blast a few pics up to get up to now and then slow down a bit!
Cheers
Chris

| The first unit I completed was my Wracks, I converted the acothyst to have a scissorhand using a hand from a master tormentor morghoul by Privateer Press (nice that they sell bits to their kits!) and others with various bits and pieces. | |

| I've also got a load of WIP... My Rat Ogre based Grotesques... My converted Talos. Not a major conversion, just pinned two extra tentacle arms at the bottom and kept the tentacle bottom from the Cronos variant. I think it looks more like it's running on its tentacles now rather than weirdly floating around (wasn't a fan of that - not menacing enough, more of a weird spikey balloon!). And my Kabalite Warriors converted up using the Black Ark Corsairs kit for Dark Elves... Cheers Chris | |

| Your models look great. I love the color scheme, the blues, greens and tans work really well together. I love the bases on your Wracks too. Looking forward to more and welcome back to the hobby. _________________ Checkout my Project- Lions of Asuryan:Eldar Corsairs http://www.thedarkcity.net/t5288-lions-of-asuryan-craftworld-eldar-updates

| Painting is excellent and models all look great. My only comment is that if you're intending to have any Trueborn in your lists you might want to save the corsair cloaks as a means of distinguishing them from your warrriors. _________________ You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. | Cheers!, I've also recently finished up my first unit of Wyches and a tester for the Kabalites. All my dudes are going to have the cloaks of some kind and the warriors are also all having Scourge heads... Trueborn will also have a few extra embellishments but have the normal DE helmets though i'm not planning on running more than one squad (more going for carni of flesh with maybe a Beastpack). Wyches Test Kabalite though I think i'm going to change his rifle a bit... Had to have a non helmet head for this one otherwise how would he blow his hunting horn! Chris | |

| I've amended the Kabalite Warrior rifle and tried a new photo effect as hard to get good lighting and my good camera is at the office... Think i'm going to go this way with maybe a bit more highlghting for my Kabalites. Cheers Chris _________________ My Hobby Progress Thread

| Sneak peak of something coming later, my Grotesques are nearly done (well 5 of them at least, couldn't face basecoating another 2 when I got that far on Thursday). I'm very close to completed (about an hr or two of finishing touches) and will then try to do a group shot and fronts and backs to show the conversions fully. Cheers Chris | |

| I entered this project log into the Independent Characters Hobby Progress Challenge (great idea by the way and not too late to join in!).
Would love your support and would highly recommend giving it a go as it's helped me get good ideas looking at everyone's progress!

| The grots sort of remind me about Skaven rat ogres... hey!! Thats a great conversion idea! Anyways, always lovely to see Dark Eldar with a little happier colours (not that they look happy) _________________ THE KABAL OF LOST HONOUR

| Hi Chaps, Thanks for the comments! Well it seems I’m not very good at keeping myself from painting things up too quick. Here is my Talos Pain Engine who my lovely girlfriend has named Sebastian. Here he is with my Grotesques from earlier this month… And with some arty Filter from photshop… Cheers, hope you like him! Chris | |

| Sebastian is a great name for a floating, nightmarish engine of death and destruction, that's for sure. I really like the blue limbs and how smooth the blending is there. The gold bits are also fantastic - battleworn, but still shiny. I'm quite envious, the intricacies of such smooth blending so far evades me.
Your coven stuff is fantastic, and your wyches and kabalite warrior also look splendid! I'll definitely be following closely to your further additions! _________________ Siticus Empyrean Vision - my Facebook page with various painting projects Siticus' Empyrean Visions log - the project log for my Aeldari works and beyond

| Cheers guys! Here's the whole Kabal so far: About 550 points and rather disjointed till I get some vehicles and Kabalites done... one month though and i'll have I reckon about 1000pts and reasonably rounded. Cheers Chris _________________ My Hobby Progress Thread

| Thanks guys, lets hope I can keep it up with the core troops! First one (of a ten man squad) nearly complete, just some details and the base to do. The rest are a couple of stages behind this one and i'll get them all up to this level, detail up then base and post a proper photo with fronts and backs etc. I've used Scourge heads throughout and Black Ark Corsair cloaks (which i'm realising is all a bit Duke Slicus - The Serpent so maybe I should go with him instead of Vect?). | Hi Guys Well the Kabalites are finished!!!!! I’ve tried to take decent shots of them as a unit and a few individual shots as they look at their best as a group (as most troop units do I guess!) Anyway, here is a group shot... A rear shot which gives a better view of the cloaks This guy is a leader of sorts, a Haemonculus has messed around with his left arm (from a Dark Vengeance cultist) Here is the completed Dark Lance guy And the banner (banner still not finished but I may not do that right now and give it some careful consideration). Hope you like them and hit me with any questions if you have any. The army feels more like a proper force now I have a standard shooty troop choice. | Those are easily the coolest kabalites I have ever seen (btw, all the kabalites I have seen are either on this forum or in my shelf, but still good). Love the cloaks! _________________ THE KABAL OF LOST HONOUR
