Rites of War 40K

I downloaded the old SSI game rites of war but it requires direct x 6.1 to run, I have windows 7 which has directx10 inbuilt and wont allow you to install 6.1.

Thought some of you might have tried playing it and run into this,

any help?

Is your problem specifically running the game (as in it's installed perfectly fine)?
If so, have you tried running it as an administrator*, or in compatibility mode**?

*right click > run as administrator
**right click > properties > compatibility tab > tick box for run in compatibility mode and chose one from the drop down box. XP should suffice, but you may need to use an older OS

It doesnt have to do anything with DirectX. Use metioned above method.

I have finished this game when i have WinXP, dont know about Windows 7.

Great game actually, i liked briefings so much, they really captured Eldar feel.

P.S. Just managed to run it, with no apparent difficulties. Even look decent widescreen.

Try download another version. I ran mine even without compatability mode.

Could you link me? I found a couple more i'll let u know if they work taking 45/1hr to DL
