Kabal of the Star Eater Empty
PostSubject: Kabal of the Star Eater   Kabal of the Star Eater I_icon_minitimeSun Mar 17 2013, 02:28

This is a relatively new Kabal formed after the break up and collapse of the powerful, Kabal of the Nine Serpents.  After a successful assassination attempt went wrong (leaving the Archon and the usurping Hierarch truly dead, as well as the majority of the Archon's Court, the warp portal the Hierarch used allowed ‘things’ to come through, not just getting the Archon dragged away)
This botched assassination turned the entire region into a patchwork of open battlezones and nearly caused the total collapse of Dark Eldar society in the whole city sector…but situation is now settled into a series of sieges and street battles as the successor Kabals struggle for dominance

One of the new Kabals formed is led by one of the Nine Serpents ex-Dracons, Lykos Drisharas, who quickly seized a large portion of the Kabal fleet. Over the next few centuries Lykos has been locked in a fierce war with the other splinter Kabals, as well as neighboring Kabals who are all trying to reclaim the Nine Serpents previous territory. So far the new Archon has conquered several of the Kabals former docking areas and their surrounding slum and trading districts…is currently engaged in fighting for the remaining docks and central palace.

Lykos is keen to conquer more Nine Serpent territory as he hasn't reclaimed the Tower of Dead Suns, the old Kabal's original seat of power. This means his Kabal has not risen to the power the original owners of the territory had, something the new Archon cannot abide.

Thought The Kabal of the Star Eater has emerged as the strongest of the successor Kabals it is still vulnerable as it has not regained a majority of its makers former glory, Lykos Drisharas and his minions are subjected to vicious street fighting by encroaching enemies almost constantly, this has led to a rather bunker mentality from the Kabal and contributed to its use of heavy weapons and fixed defenses to a much greater degree than many other Kabals

Kabal of the Star Eater force composition

is relatively minor so has little in the way of Wych and Haemonculus allies (fielding mostly the odd Wych troupe and a few Talos/Cronos Engines) instead relies on large numbers of warriors and heavy weapons . The kabal does have a slightly odd belief in the use of heavy weapons employing not only fixed and mobile AI turrets, but also a variety of more hevily armed/armored vehicles

Since the Kabal now controls almost all the slums previously claimed by the Nine Serpents Kabal it can call on many Reaver gangs (The majority of the Hellions having sworn loyalty to the Cult of the Shrieking Strike, the regions only remaining Wych Cult) as well as a ready supply of vicious local thugs and killers eager to earn full membership of the Kabal. The vicious street level fighting the Kabal has gotten used to as also lead to the use of Shrike Rifles alongside more common DE specialist weapons, (the rifles fire long barbs, designed to cause horrific bleeding and ripping injuries...has become one of the Kabal's main exports)

Finally the Kabal has developed many fiendish defensive fortifications (grave mines for example) and imports many exotic weapons (such as the mobile shield generators and DE constructs)

The Kabal of the Star Eater are very thorough raiders often stick around in real space longer than other Kabals do, to compensate for this often field many heavy weapons, and even artillery, to protect against counter attacks. Reason for Kabal staying longer in realspace is twofold. Firstly allows them to acquire more loot and slaves and secondly allows them to build up a reputation as fierce, long battle fighters…making them useful allies for when more powerful kabals who are in need heavy weapon specialists or expert siege troops.

As Far as allies go the Kabal of the Star Eater can call upon the support of a few minor low Commorragh Kabals who rely on the Star Eaters for easy access to realspace. As well as some support from Cult of the Shrieking Strike and whatever Haemonculi favours they can afford. Known to be more than willing to aid other Eldar…for a price; more so than most other Kabals.

Kabal Leader
Archon Lykos Drisharas ‘The Scarred Prince’ ‘The Wolf of Gavrron III’
-Key Features:  several Kabal tattoos and some prominent scars…as well as trophies + piercings
- Little is known about his early life, though rumours abound he was born among the lowest classes of Commoragh and had to fight to join the Kabal at a young age. Steadily rose through the ranks, almost calmly disposing of those in his path. His calm attitude is not to be mistaken for weakness however; he rules his new Kabal with an iron fist, often enjoys feeding rivals to his pet Vorixals (vicious quadruped avian/reptiles) and then trapping their essence in a Soul Trap ( a relic that belonged to the previous Archon in fact). When leading real-space raids he usually travels in a huge raider-like craft sniping at the enemy with a Shrike Rifle, like the battle is a Safari, before attacking the enemy’s strongest points with power sword and soul-trap accompanied either by a court of his retainers and Incubi bodyguards.

In Commorragh all his energy is focused on destroying the other Kabals that cling onto land that is rightfully his, though he still finds time to enjoy gladiatorial spectacles and oversee the trade in goods his raiding forces capture. Beyond this he excises his whims (which usually involve collecting dangerous animals, hunting sentient beings with them and being decadent) and nurses his hatred of those who dwell in the spires that should be his.

Oddly the Archon is nicknamed ‘the scarred prince’ after keeping several of his scars he received after almost succumbing to an ambush by a rival successor Kabal (as a self-taught lesson he keeps the scars), and the fact most Kabals expect him to ascend to lord over all the domains of the fallen Nine Serpents…and take title of Archon-Prince which the old Nine Serpents used to use

Anyway that's my idea for the Kabal, any thoughts or pointers?
