Greetings.

I have yet to paint any trueborn. I do have my warriors though.

you can see some examples of my warriors in this old thread:
http://www.thedarkcity.net/t777-my-first-painted-dark-kin

I need to figure out how to make the trueborns stand out from the traditional warriors while still maintaining the same "feel". So no completely new colorsheme but a slight modification of the existing, so they still feel like a part of the same Kabal, but at the same time are clearly a different soldier.

Any ideas?

I would suggest that the easiest thing is to make the models different (fancy helmets or bare heads, or cloaks, or something), rather than relying on the paint scheme to distinguish them.

I paint the left upper arm plates white, on mine. They're also bareheaded, unlike the rank and file Kabalites.

I had thought about the cloak idea, but don't know where I should aquire them. Greenstuff is not an option in my book.

My existing warriors already have mixed heads and helmets unfortunatly. I want to use the wych "mirror helmets" for the trueborn armed with dark lances.

A lot of people have used Dark Elf Corsair cloaks to great effect.

The new High Elf Shadow Warrior capes and helmets seem extremely appropriate for Trueborn, if you want something newer.

I used Phoenix Guard cloaks for my Trueborn and think it worked out quite well (then again, I have a bit of a fire theme in my army).

Howdy,

if you have enough of them, the trophy rack for the commanders is a simple option.

My Blaster Archon (sort of unfinished, like everything I have at the mo..) uses a corsair cloak, still working on trueborn to match...

Cheers, it's getting there. I will say that it requires a fair bit of work with a dremel removing the torso connections on the front of the cloak, but once they're off it's actually a really good fit over the back of a DE torso.

was considering the simpler option of corsair torso, cloak and legs combined with dark eldar arms and weaponry, don't how that would turn out though Smile
