Kabal of the Broken Mirror Empty
PostSubject: Kabal of the Broken Mirror   Kabal of the Broken Mirror I_icon_minitimeTue Sep 10 2013, 09:40

"Our Raiders shall blot out the sun, and our quarry shall descend into the hell we will bring upon them."

-Dracon Mor'slish, during a planetary raid on a fortified Imperial world.

Unbeknownst to the large majority of citizens of the Imperium lies a dimension of reality in limbo between the horrors of the Warp and the realities of the realspace they live in. Even fewer still know of an entire race of xenos that dwells within it, and the city they have erected: Commorragh.

Ruling this city from the peaks of spires are the debauched Kabals of the Dark Eldar. From below, working like the gears of an antiquated clock are the Haemonculi and their creations, sculpted, living masses of flesh, bone, blood and pain. For the denizens of this sprawling obsidian jungle, the realities of existence are a depraved one filled with misery and suffering.

As Kabals rise and fall, each one seeks to rule and outwit the other in a merciless and vicious game of political backstabbing and outmaneuvering. One such Kabal is that of the Broken Mirror, which occupies a pocket realm within the immense webway.

This Kabal is lead by the Archon Ventyr'a, a Dark Eldar genius who lost his sanity long ago, and is holding on to his position as a result of cunning and pure luck. Mundane, day to day management of the Kabal is thus left to his Dracons, whose constant bickering and rivalries keep them from gaining too much power. But when the time comes to call a planetary raid for more victims of their hellish debauchery, Ventyr'a has the first, and final, say in it. To question his decisions is to invite a painful, prolonged death at the hands of his Haemonculi associates.

Next in the the hierarchy of this Kabal is an immense being, even for the Dark Eldar. Dracon Mor'slish is the head captain of the Kabal, but speaks few words when not in battle, but he is considered the only Dark Eldar in the Kabal that Ventyr'a himself could fully trust. The reason for this is only known by Ventyr'a, for he was the one who created the being known as Mor'slish.

Many centuries before the events of the 41st millenium, a lone Kabalite Warrior was left as the sole survivor of a botched battle between daemons of the Warp and Ventyr'a's forces. During this time, he was brought upon an altar of Chaos. With Ventyr'a himself proceeding over the wicked ritual, this warrior was bounded with a daemonic entity. What emerged from the ceremony was a creature that was not either Dark Eldar or Daemon. Instead, this new being, a Daemonhost shared with the shriveled soul of a Dark Eldar, became the most potent instrument of Ventyr'a's will. Ventyr'a now had a being tied to his will. Mor'slish was born from this unholy ceremony.

With most raids, Mor'slish tends to lead personally, in the knowledge that if he were to die, his body shall become anew again in the laboratory of the Haemonculi. He person rides with an entourage of skilled warriors armed with the best poisoned weaponry the Kabal has to offer. Along with this entourage he also has many other soldiers at his disposal, and even some of the Haemonculi creations join as well. Hiring other lesser groups such as Reavers is not above his notice, and will even stoop as to hire street gangs during his raids.

In most raids, the Broken Mirror favors a bold, quick, and painful hit and run, leaving few behind. However, when the situation calls, they are more than capable of being able to hold a line. It is in these skirmishes and battles that Warriors become one of the elite that personally escort Mor'slish. That is, if they survive.

The most favored of Ventry'a himself do not accompany Mor'slish but are instead given heavy weaponry and sent hunting for vehicles. This could either be in Commorragh in order to sabotage other lesser Kabals or in battle finding the most vulnerable vehicle they can and emerging from behind enemy lines to attack it.

More to come after a bit while I rewrite some of the backstory for this Kabal :p
