I completed my entry for Armies on Parade:









I made 4/8 so no medal for me, still happy that i made it there

I just continued what i did on the bases.

Made 3 Reavers and 5 Trueborn w/ 4 Blasters, 3 more reavers to go for my 1499 list.

In the meantime an all blue Venom hull seemed a bit bland to me, hello random tribals:

So you're the chap with the kickass Venom/Reaver mashup! Very cool model, and I love the Wraithblade Grotesques. You've got a real knack for modelling work, and reading through your thread I can see your painting's definitely improved (I'm none too great a painter myself, and sometimes it's tricky to see when you're improving yourself as the change is too incremental).

I've always had difficulty with yellows myself too, and other vibrant colours over dark bases (although I've found that putting down an intermediate colour on top of the dark, with the vibrant colour over that works nicely). By the look of your latest Venom you've got it sorted though

I'm also quite happy with the yellow by now, a key was to use many layers.

But i really have to start working on that Fast Attack Venom again, took off the rear fins as they were not stable enough so i have to come up with an alternative.
And i still have to fill the gaps.
Will probably use some more Reaver- and other spiky bits and maybe a bit green stuff.

A little teaser for my Scourges:

I love the wings on that Scourge, the faded tones on the wings, along with being multicolored looks really nice. (and the wings look almost metallic as well, and while that may be a trick of the light it looks really cool)

And no it's not a trick of the light, but the normal metal range(leadbelcher, ironbreaker, runefang)
tinted with various glazes and drybrushed with runefang again afterwards.

That is really cool, I have never thought of even trying anything like that! I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of your scourges now

Ironically the feathers were much easier than the batwings.
I hate the batwings.

Been a little lazy on the posting front, but less so on the painting front, so now a bunch of pictures

First off i finished my 4 Venoms with freehands, purity seal, 'ardcoat and names:

Even though i think at some point in the future i'm going to rework the board with a ton more Astrogranite, for now i just more or less drybrushed the structure of the board...
