Maybe it is too much beer, but I'm thinking about the question: Is a dedicated transport, in game terms, part of the unit? If so, a venom would get the poison (3+) bonus from the duke, wouldn't it?
We came to no conclusion. Sorry, if it's too simple, but, hey, we just won our soccer game...

Simple answer - no. It's an entirely separate unit.
