| The Haemonculi's Challenge, Round 2 VotingSorry for this delay! Some voting rules: Poll will be open for 8 days. You can vote for one entry and cannot cancel your votes once cast. Remember, it is not allowed to vote on your own entry. When all the votes and have been summed up with the previous round, we will have jurys to pick one winner. The winner wins a prize, vehicle craters by Gobsmakked! Remember, this challenge is all about conversion, creativity and modelling skills. Check back here for some WIP logs. Be sure to click into the links to see their whole work and for more pics! This round was about: Xenala SapaxRequirements: - 4 models in total! - 1 Xenala Sapax* - 3 escorts on jetbikes! * - Xenala must have his/her own unique Ridiculous Ride.** *: They do not have to be reavers or wyches. They can wear any armour, not strictly wychsuits. So go crazy for this one! Example: Incubi on jetbike! Xenala must stand out though, since he/she is an Archon. **: As long as it is some sort of ride, anything goes! But remember, it has to give the feel of being ridiculous or exaggerating in any possible way! The escorts can use anything as a ride, but Xenala's must stand out. ALSO! Xenala don't need to be mounted! You can have Xenala on her own seperate base, dismounted. After some feedback and quick realization, I'm allowing Xenala to be a seperate model from the ride. I want to clarify on one thing: The ride can be anything. If you think a reaver chained to a chariot is a nice ride, then go for it (I got this from last santa raid, inspiration to this comp ^^). If you think a hovering house with balloons is suitable and ridiculous, go for it. Here are the entries:Thor665 - Link to thread - Pics:

| Just a note, the bottom image of my entry is one of the wor in progress shots. The finished drones are included in the pic with the ride (at the bottom). _________________ Kabal of the Eternal Night | Modelling Blog | The Squidmaster Distractathon | Notes on being an RPG Gamesmaster |

| Good point from Squid, his final drones and the pictured drones are quite dissimilar.
Just cast my vote also, not an easy choice even with only two options. After seeing the votes I also can't hide who I voted for either, really. I think Squid did a better job at 'ridiculous ride' hands down. That said, Koshi overall created the more coherent and complete unit, which I think was part of the purpose of the competition, and I also think the drones are just not able to compete with the aether surfers of doom. That was my voting logic. I am chuffed that I got someone to vote for me though <3 ! _________________ The Title Troupe! - Nom fellow posters for custom titles.

| Oh, I put my hands up and admit my mistake. I read the part about escorts, and my mind glossed over the "jetbikes" part until it was far too late to do anything about it.
Still. My vote is in. A tough choise between thor and koshi, but I think my vote goes in for koshi. I love what thor did with that Raider, and I'm certain it'll look fantastic on a battlefield and amongst an army, but I had to go with koshi mainly on a thematic level. I think Xenala was described as someone who essentially pimps rides, or builds custom rides, and in my mind a simpler, smaller vehicle just fit that better. koshi's Xenala just looks more like someone with that kind of mindset. _________________ Kabal of the Eternal Night | Modelling Blog | The Squidmaster Distractathon | Notes on being an RPG Gamesmaster |

That does explain it. I agree about Koshi, I think the unit really nails the gist of the competition. I also, weirdly, still love what he did for Xenla's hair - that is such a cool little conversion and looks awesome. I need to steal that idea. _________________ The Title Troupe! - Nom fellow posters for custom titles.

| Well thank you all for your comments. well i think its no secret who I voted for. Thor665 your chariot and riders use so many bits you put my extensive collection of bits to shame. But then again most of mine at imperial focused. Really like how the riders are so many different bits that seperatly are a certain aesthetic by together look fantastic. Squidmaster I really liked your conversion it appeals to my talos fix. And the drones look like they are straight out of star wars which I like.
So question when is the next competition. Ready to break open the new wracks and homunculus. Maybe finally blend in them with tau bits to finnaly recreation taus first contact with dark eldar.)

| Finally placed my vote. Overall, I think that Koshi just nailed the concept as whole, and has the most coherent unit. Plus, it looks great, but I may just be biased towards windsurfing DE from my own original But it wasn't a clearcut choice, however. Squid came up with a tremendously original concept and has pulled it off extremely well, while Thor has created a fantastic centrepiece that just screams DE, as does the rawness of the outriders. Congrats everyone, very well done! _________________ Mod Squad Forum rules, please read ................. or else we release the Khymerae! The Serpents' Breath - the Dark Eldar corsair scourge Hive Fleet Void Riven & WIP thread | |

| So I am posting this here because I think it fits but the new rule book allow me to now use the chariot as a venom carrying my Archon. Can not wait to try out that and 6 fast attack slots. So excited for the new book. _________________ Fetch me another plaything. This one seems to have broken. -Urien Rakarth

| @Squidmaster- Man I loved your ride! Keep up the crazy and absolutely ridiculous ideas. I'm still checking out your project log now and then for those conversions of yours. @PartridgeKing- Hope to see your return again for the next competition! @Thor665- Very rich kitbashing and work. I recognize some stuff from WHF and old DE. Out of all the ladies in these entries, I like yours the most! @spellcheck2001- Too bad you didn't make it in time, your Carnival requires a lot attention and focus. Hopefully we'll see some of your creations here again with your style.
Thanks again everyone for participating and showing some good conversions! _________________ ---The Haemonculi's Challenge--- Come and show off your conversion skills. Win fame and prizes!
