I am having trouble clarifying something. If I am not mistaken using a flamer on a a multi story ruin you pick which floor the template is hitting and it still must be able to be hit with the flame template from the model. So when firing multiple templates into a building you can wipe out a unit spread out between multiple floors. making madusaes great for clearing a whole building.

Am I wrong on the rules?

there are no references to levels in buildings any more in the rulebook - that was a 6th edition thing that didn't make it into 7th.

so a large blast would hit everyone under it regardless of floor?

yup, everyone under the template, though obviously if they're in a ruin they get the 4+ cover (provided the weapon doesn't ignore it)

This came up in my last game. I had a Haemonculus in a raider attempting to liquify a unit of scouts in an upper story of some ruins. My opponent's position was that the template needed to be tilted upwards from the vehicle to the scouts (which meant hitting less of them). I couldn't find anything in the rules saying that the template had to be parallel to the the table, so we played it with the angled template. Did we do that right?
