| I should probably explain that one of the guys from FTN was disqualified from the recent Feast of Blades tournament for using dice that had 2 x 5's and no 2's. | |

Ironic, since GW use the forge the narrative header to encourage people to play to the spirit and 'cinematic feel' of the game!

| It was an ok episode, a far cry from an actual review though. I can sum it up for those who don't want to spend the time:
(In no particular order) DE Book is Eldar Supplement Drazhar not as good as phoenix lord Rakarth not as good but ok The voidraven is too expensive Wyches need help You should take 10 medusae ($160 + tax for 1 unit of T3 models? no thanks) Beastmasters not worth the money to buy or the points to spend in list Webway Portal is great for Eldar A pointless debate regarding deepstriking that went on far too long and was at best, a flimsy grasping of the rules.
Maybe if they go over the coven supp it'll be better. Stick to the Splintermind if you want a more palatable review rather than catering to the gang-mentality of the book being bad.

| In his defence, he said the dice in question were a job lot on ebay and he was unaware of any alterations to them. Some of his opponents say that he just reached into a dice bag and pulled out random dice whenever he needed to roll and he does seem to have a lot of support on the FTN Facebook page so it is possible that this was an innocent mistake.

| Possible. But also possible is that he is Wrecking Crew, and another Wrecking Crew member was caught with cheating dice at Beakycon. (that one always rolled a "6")
That is two dice cheaters (intentional or not) from the same club, and the only ones I ever heard of. Couple that with the fact he was playing Tzeetch Demons (who only ever fail on a "2"), and wanted Invisibility, which you get on a roll of a "5", and his dice had 2 of them on it.
That is a LOT of coincidences to stomach. That being said, how he handled the situation afterwards was mature and professional, so much so that I think even if he did do it on purpose, it would never happen again.
All that being said, i have played him in tournaments and never, ever got a bad or cheating vibe from him. He is also a freaking amazing painter!

Most of these are competitive players, like myself, so I can listen to what they have to say and understand and agree. They mirror everything that I have said in my review of the book, and yes, I agree with them that the book is an Eldar supplement if you're looking at it from a competitive point of view. At that point, it's all about knowing your audience. Splintermind is a podcast for Dark Eldar fans. FTN is not.

Well you also had your review published there, so I can understand you're an advocate of the way they review things. I didn't mean any offense by my statement mind you, just summing it up. The podcast is actually quite humorous. I did think the Deepstrike argument got a little tiresome simply though. I'll note again as Paul also mentioned in the broadcast that it was hardly an exhaustive review. No mention of new Scourges, their analysis of Grotesques seemed to focus mainly on Liquifier gun loadouts, trueborn changes (special weapons), etc. It was also recorded before the coven supplement came out. But they've had the leaks like everyone else (via 3++, I know you all talk) but didn't really get into it. Quite honestly Hero they should have asked you to be on the show as I don't really feel there was a really an active Dark Eldar player in the midst.

| Yeah, the podcast itself seemed too first impressions with not enough thought into what they're looking at. I don't think any of them have actually played the army outside of including Baron, so I don't really blame them for not knowing some things.
And again, I agree with the derail they had with the DS. Stuff like that should be avoided on a podcast that talks about the army book. It just makes the cast drag and forces most listeners to space out (like I did), since I didn't really care nor will I play like that with my Skimmers (unless properly errata'd).
