| That was changed in 7th (presumably to stop the buffmander with riptide)
The only way we can get an IC with a unit of MCs is with the Dark Artisan formation, as the Talos/Cronos and Haemy automatically form a single unit using that formation - but no other IC may join the unit.

| Got a fun game likely vs Tyranids coming up this weekend, looking to test out a whole pile of the new Coven stuff. Running a Dark Artisan formation with that Haemy as my Warlord, Nightmare Doll and Panacea. Debating between HQs for my Dark Eldar Codex Detachment (not a coven detachment): Urien Rakarth OR Haemonculus, Crucible of Malediction, Helm of Spite, maybe Agoniser?
I figure the Crucible will actually be useful since Tyranids can't exactly hide psykers in other units to absorb wounds.
Thoughts? | |

| Its only S6 so you wont autokill either. Not to sure if its worth to have a 50% chane of putting a single wound on a MC or a Zoanthrope. | |

Nope. No targeting Flyrants (while swooping). Nova would be valid as "Nova" explicitly states that it can hit Flyers, the Crucible on the other hand is a shooting attack that hits automatically ind is therefore invalid.

Those are the rules for Zooming Flyers. They are not the rules for Swooping Flying Monstrous Creatures. Those say: - Quote :

| Does hardly matter as there is still this: - Quote :
- Some weapon types, such as Template and Ordnance, or those that have certain special rules, such as Blast, cannot be fired as Snap Shots. In addition, any shooting attack that does not use Ballistic Skill cannot be ‘fired’ as a Snap Shot.

| Huh. Well... that's disappointing. So the Crucible is legitimately rubbish, then. Can't allocate it to psykers hiding in a squad, doesn't matter vs brotherhood of psy/sorc, can't target FMCs. | |

| well it could be decent for taking out zoanthrop squads or tyranid synapse. are those not psykers? and they are normally solo big guys or zoan squads? | |

Crucible does ONE S6 hit. Hardly enough to take out a T6 Synapse or a T4 W2 Zoantroph. It could be used to take out Eldar and Imperial Psykers. But as these tend to hide in units and the UNIT takes the hit, they just remove a Guardsman or a Jetbiker/Guardian and laugh.

| Yeah I ditched all 3 crucibles. Found 5pts and added a Venom, did good works.
3 Haemonculi in that match; two with flesh gauntlet, one (Dark Artisan) with Doll, Panacea, WWP, Agoniser. I know how killy the Dark Artisan formation is but even so I think putting the agonizer on the Haemy is well worth it. Did a fair bit of heavy lifting, and helped get them out of a gene stealer tarpit. Little haemonculi with a simple flesh gauntlet are still fantastic HQs. With their new statline vs the old 'dex, each of them did their fair share of killing and then some.
Argument can be made for the scissorhand for sure but since my match was vs 'nids having a few ID wounds was worth it.
