Tatalus Thoughts

what are the thoughts on the tantalus? im thinking of getting one, but dont know if its worth it, both in points and money.

I thought it's too expensive (yeah, both in points and money) and ordered Lynx instead when I visited Forgeworld a few weeks ago.

Those 12 dissie shots look lovely, but I'd rather bring two Ravagers for that.

Money is my issue, when you can stick a court of the archon full of medusae in it and fly down the enemies throte to deliver sweet flaming vengeance that's oh so hard to get rid of without Thammer madness . The look on your opponents face as a squad or two evaporates..... PRICELESS!!!

It is expensive but I do plan on getting one. Those stats man.

The best way I've thought of running them would be with WWP and chock full of Warriors. Run in multiples and just evaporate blobs. Have to have other options for your tank busting, with my preference being for Reavers, but would probably work better with Scourges.

Kabalite Warriors : 16 Warriors, Splinter Canon

Reavers : 3 Reavers, Heat Lance, Cluster Caltrops

Also, when you consider the size of the Tantalus, Leadership bombing could be an amazingly effective.

I love what it offers and it really helps. I am probably going to get 1-2 reapers first though. Looking at the stats on the Storm Vortex Projector I am really liking what I am seeing at 135 points.

I have one, only normal play it in fun lists as it draws a lot of fire.

Probably one of the best looking models Forgeworld has.

How have you been using your Tantalus? And have you played it at all with the new codex?

I use mine only for fun in 2k or higher. Per codex update I always had a warrior blob with aliscus in it when I took it. Now that splinter racks are way better I avoid putting warriors in it. Have yet to try a court because I don't have one, but 8 grotesques has been pretty damn fun
