Sucubus w/ Incubi

I've seen quite a few lists pop up recently that had a Sucubus escorted with Incubi.... Is this the new Deldar killy unit or are people just experimenting with the new codex?

Works well for me, I guess the best escort is Grots but I like the Incubi and I've been very impressed with the damage the Klaivex can put out with Rampage.

Depends what you need I guess, for me they provide 3+ against overwatch and AP2 in combat, while being a small enough unit to put in a Venom with a Succubus. They can be pretty killy against MEQ as long as you're not charging through cover.

The only thing that Succubus is bringing to Incubi is 4++ and thats only in cc. The Incubion the otherhand doesn't benefit Succubus much.

I rather take Grots.

The Incubi are the scalpel to the Grot's hammer (or in their case, several hammers). As Vasara points out, the Succubus brings very little to a unit of Incubi (and certainly nothing I'd want to risk if she were my warlord!).
On the other hand, her AP2 can be quite important in a unit of Grots, particularly since they tend to work through large quantities of attacks for which the 2+ save is a pretty decent counter, the Succubus can strip out a few wounds first, the Grots soak the damage and then hit back.

I could see Succubus and Incubi being a reasonable combo against deathwing, and Grey Knights (whose force weapons would make a mockery of Grots high level of wounds) but outside of that I'd tend to leave them for fluffy games (I have a unit painted, it will sometimes be fielded and I have other models to add to it)

The question to me isn't why someone would take a Succubus over an Archon in an assault uint - it's why they'd pick Incubi

That is one of the two valid reasons I can think of for taking Incubi.

Thanks guys, I think I'll just stick to my Grots as the go to unit for assaults. I'm going to be posting a 1500 point list soon any and all feed back would be most welcomed as I am the only Deldar player for a 200 mile radius (not even joking).

Succubus gives the incubi assault grenades. I've used it with fantastic results.

No she doesn't, not any more

If she did there would have been much less wailing and gnashing of teeth when the new codex dropped.

And you'd see a lot more incubi being used!

She does. Grenades only effect the model who has them though, so she doesn't help the incubi at all.

Not arguing, but this seems silly to me, as only one model can throw a grenade anyways.. Still having a hard time grasping, fluff wise, how throwing grenades affects your speed in combat. Would make more sense if, by throwing grenades, you lowered your opponents initiative to 1, due to them having to hide from the explosions. Also funny how a squad of 10 wyches throws ten grenades and doesn't manage to wound anyone.. Ever.

It's representative only, the idea is that if you're charging into cover, you have to climb over the wall/rubble etc and therefore the opponent gets the chance to hit you while you're doing that. by throwing grenades you force the enemy to keep their heads down and therefore you get the drop on them, because there's no reason why you'd only throw one as you charge in. It's not about causing damage though.

My Wyches killed my Klaivex with grenades... That counts right? He even had FNP....
