Until we get another guide up on the different units, I think this one done by Hedonismbot on the Miniwargaming forum is quite good. It goes over the different units and equipment and gives a suggested loadout for the different units.

| When I build mine she goes with Grots, and I run her with the Glaive and nothing else. She's HQ tax and putting AP2 into my Grot unit. It's cheap, effective, and she doesn't need armor because the Grots protect her, and she doesn't need haywire because any vehicle I wish to attack the Grots can handle. | |

| I pretty much run my succubus the same - in fact I had a game this weekend where a succubus with glaive and webway portal, with 4 standard grots in a raider performed amazingly, and pretty much single handedly won me the game. | |

| For a general guide, I think I'll probably wait for Thor's. | |

| Yeah... After reading a little it's pretty clear he has no idea about what he is talking about. He said medusea stayed the same price... that's when I stopped reading. | |

| "Grotesques
At first glance I wasn't very impressed with these guys and only ever took incubi if I needed an escort for my hq's, but after seeing the results other players were getting with them, my opinion swiftly changed."Umm......if you didn't see it right off the bat, I'll just stop reading now. I don't want to go Negative Nancy on this tactica as I know it takes a tremendous effort to write one, and I doubt mine would be spectacular either if I were to expend the energy and great time. Generally I want something pretty exceptional in a tactica, not something that really just screams Collective Captain Obvious Observations. Not to kiss my co-host's behind, but I'll wait for Thor's tactica.

| I don't wish to be harsh, because I know writing guides like this take a lot of effort, but this seems like a really dubious tactica. Some of his comments just seem bizzare - like how the Hexrifle apparently got better at killing things, despite no longer being able to kill EW models *and* no longer having a chance to ID with every wound. Also, he describes the Huskblade as a "dirt cheap" power weapon. In what universe is 25pts 'dirt cheap'? That's almost 50% of an Archon's base cost. Hell, I don't even consider 15pts for a standard power weapon 'dirt cheap' - let alone on S3 models. In addition, he also seems to contradict himself a fair bit. Like, in the wargear section he talks about how the Huskblade is now pretty poor and can't be used against a lot of characters. But, in the Archon section, one of his suggested builds is an Archon with a Huskblade for 'character hunting'. - Erikjust wrote:

Guess you don´t agree? Well, honestly, why would you? A Succubus is a cheap, killy and very fragile character, who already has access to the best weapon we have (the Glaive). Why would you spend another 25pts to give her a worse (and overpriced) weapon? Now, you could argue that the agoniser is better against some targets - namely MCs with 3+ armour saves. And, I'd agree. But, we're Dark Eldar. Why are we charging into 3+ save MCs at all? Our army is filled to the brim with poison - we don't need to risk our HQ being insta-killed just to have a shot against a MC. And, even leaving that aside, a succubus just isn't survivable enough to consider giving spare weapons to. Hell, even with a more survivable Archon, I wouldn't do this (unless we still had 5pt Venom Blades). Leave that sort of preparation to the 200+pt Wolf Lords and Chapter Masters.

I'd certainly like to hear what target he has in mind for that unit.

Because it looks great? I have one and she does look great with that loadout. But honestly 120 points just for that is just ridiculous.
