Need help with army lists.

I am going to be in a School League Tournament 600pts but I am struggling on what type of army to go for. I have two army lists for Dark Eldar one Kabal army another a Haemonculus Coven army using the supplement codex.
These are separate army lists rather than Combined Arms.

Kabal Army

HQ

Archon
Power Weapon= 75pts

Troops

10 Kabalite Warriors +Splinter Cannon = 95pts

9 Kabalite Warriors = 72pts

Fast Attack

Raider Dark Lance Splinter Racks = 75pts

Raider + Dark Lance + Splinter Racks = 75pts

(These Raiders will be dedicated transports for the Kabalite Warriors )

Reavers = 80pts

Heavy Support

Ravager3 Dark Lances =125pts

Total = 597

Haemonculus Coven Army

Formations

Scarlet Epicureans
1 Haemonculus
1 Cronos + spirit vortex
2 wracks + 1 liquifier gun = 310pts

Scalpel Squadron
2 Wracks
2 Venoms + 1 chain snares = 205pts

Compulsory HQ
Haemonculus +Liquifier gun = 85pts
( This Haemonculus will be attached to one of the Wrack squads in the Scarlet Epicurean )
Total = 600pts
Please comment I would love some feedback and if there should be any recommended changes

- What role do you want the Archon to fulfill? I'm assuming he will go with the 9-man Kabalite unit. If so, there is no point in giving him a power weapon; you don't want this unit to get into CC. Additionally, you might want to try and give him either a Clonefield or Shadowfield to make him more survivable.
- What role do you want the Reavers to fulfill?
- Note that DT Raiders do not take up a FA slot, and therefore shouldn't be listed under FA but as wargear for the unit they are bought for.

As for the Coven list:
- How many guys are in the Wrack units?
- Lose the chain snares on the Venoms, get them both double splinter cannons instead.
- Why is there another Haemonculus in this list? League rules?
- This list has no way of dealing with any kind of AV. Your Wracks will get blown to bits before they're halfway across the table.

I do not know what role the Archon would be to be honest, the Reavers I wanted as a sort of fast attack distraction.
There would be five Wracks in one squad, the reason there is a second Haemonculus is because in the Coven Supplement you have to have two HQ choices at least and two Elite options as the book restricts a lot of the characters. Yeah I know my lists were absolute rubbish and it kind of makes me feel stupid ..... Only started Dark Eldar and already I can't even come up with a good list ....

If I'm not mistaken, the compulsory HQ and 2 Elites are only if you take the detachment. If you take formations I believe you just take whats in them.

To be honest I do not know AvaterofWoe I have not played 40K in a while and I only started Dark Eldar.

I agree with DingK, you should drop the Power Sword off the Archon if he's going with the warriors. I'd give him a Blaster or The Parasite's Kiss instead to help out with the Warriors' shooting. If you can find the points, Shadow Fields are great for keeping your Archon alive. I've never used the Clone Field before, so I can't speak for its effectiveness.

As to the lists; it's very hard to fit enough AT into a Coven list if your limit is 600 points. At higher values, Coven and CAD Dark Eldar can supplement each other very nicely, but that's a luxury you can't yet afford.

Right now, I'd go for straight Dark Eldar if I were you, perhaps with one or two Coven units sprinkled in for flavour.
Think Raiders as platforms for Dark lances. Give the Archon a Blaster and stick him with one of the Kabalite units. Give the Reavers Blasters for some fast-moving AP.

Cheap & chearful: at low point values, take as little upgrades as possible. I know it's tempting to give those Raiders splinter racks, but those 30 points pay for almost 2 more Reaver Jetbikes...

Well the thing is I have already modeled the Archon but I can say the power sword is just a close combat weapon, Reavers I have not built yet and the Raider I only built one with the Dark lance.

Ok so after looking after some other lists and listening to some advice I came up with this.

5 Kabalite's + Blaster
Venom + Splinter Cannon = 120pts

5 Kabalite's + Blaster
Venom + Splinter Cannon = 120pts

Ravager + 3 Dark Lances = 125 pts

Total = 365pts

This will be the base of my 600pts army list now but I am struggling to find a good HQ to compliment them. I was thinking of having a Haemonculus with a Webway Portal deepstrike in with a cc unit but I was not sure. Maybe a Archon with a Blaster alongside some Trueborn on a Venom but I do not know yet.

It's a great base to work with. As an aside, you can no longer stick an Archon with Blasterborn since the size of Trueborn is now a minimum of five models.

You could always use a Venom with a few Medusae in it (with or without an Archon) or Succubus and Grots in a Raider for your melee unit. Depending on your meta, an Archon/Succubus and Incubi in a Venom is another possible melee choice.

Thanks for that Drakh I will remember that Ok so I did some more number crunching, I can get a squad of Grotesques with a Haemonculus with a Raider transport equipped with a Dark Lance filling out all of my points.
So if this is a good set up my plan would be to have the Venom's move around the board trying to stick to cover and firing upon the enemy, the Ravager will sit at the back firing at any enemy vehicles or heavy targets while the Grotesque Raider and Haemonculus will drift across the battlefield and deply the Grotesques for the real fun
