| I was just wondering if anyone has had any success using Wracks, aside from in Scalpel Squadrons? | |

| Yes, but they were technically a Scalpel Squadron (5 with an Ossefactor in a Venom), just without the special rules. They were quite an annoyance for TEQs and MCs though. | |

They were quite an annoyance for TEQs and MCs though. Interesting. Were they from the DE codex or from the coven book?

Were they from the DE codex or from the coven book? From the Dark Eldar codex. If I had the Coven supplement (and a second squad of that kind) at the time, I probably would have used the Scalpel Squadron formation. Still, it's not like you need a formation to use them for what they are good at anyway. And what they do best, imo, is shooting tough, highly armored enemies with Ossefactors.

| I actually think the Scarlet Epicureans is more consistently useful. | |

| I think Scarlet Epicureans is great, provided you have a use for a Cronos outside of Dark Artisan. | |

How do you run them? Also, what do you do with the Cronos? I never know what to use it for.

A Cronos is supposed to be a supporter. You keep him near a squad you want to buff, but out of combat. The problem with that is the fact that about everything in our codex moves twice as fast as a Cronos. I would only use it as part of a Dark Artisan formation (deepstriking) or in defensive games.

I get that, but I was curious as to which squad(s) Calyptra was using it to buff. - Rokuro wrote:

Yeah, that's one of the problems I have with it. The other is that I tend towards MSU armies, so there isn't really much that +1 FNP will help a great deal. It's part of why I was so interested in how Calyptra was making use of the Scarlet Epicureans one. - Rokuro wrote:

Sorry. I didn't mean to tell you things you already know. - The Shredder wrote:

Ambush, siege, capture and hold; those kinds of scenarios, with the Dark Eldar being the ones under attack. Playing defensive may not be in our nature, but the Cronos is a tool we can use for that. It works like some sort of shield generator, flamer turret and artillery cannon in one.

Where are those scenarios from?

Where are those scenarios from? Those aren't any official names. But most scenarios of this kind come from the Codex: Stronghold Assault.
