Painting Mandrakes - Help

What is the best way to get those little runic crevices painted up on mandrakes? I'm wanting to use a green pallet on the runes with a dark purple (naggaroth night) for the flesh. I've tried painting the runes the green scheme and then dry brushing the purple over it but that didn't work. So now I turn to all of you fellow archons for help.

Thin down your paint a lot and then pick up only a little bit of it with a fine detail brush, and run it (carefully) alongside the groove. The paint will naturally follow the groove, and you can clean up the edges after with your flesh colour. You should probably use a very light green, almost white, because it's such a thin line that it needs to contrast sharply just to be seen.
