So, I realized I had no idea how the True Kin (or anyone for that matter) travel to and from the webway and realspace, are there physical gates/teleporters? are there just metaphysical rifts?
and the same goes for Commoragh's satellite realms, I feel uneducated on web-transport

We know that one way to access the webway is through the portals of varying size which can be closed to prevent passage.

Quote :
Unbeknownst to the Imperium, there existed a vast portal into a main artery of the webway within Desaderian space, shielded by holofields that made it appear nothing more than a shimmer in the starlight.

Quote :
They found the Desaderian portal mysteriously unveiled, its guards slain and its controls locked out so that it could not close.

The fluff entry for the webway portal in the codex indicates that it is a smaller version of the larger physical portals. So I think there is always a physical device at work that creates a portal, but that device doesn't need to be a structure, like a physical gate or door. There are also examples of harlequins stepping into and out of the webway without a physical gate (which they really should be able to do on the board too).

I think you would probably need a physical gate to move large amounts of forces into and out of the webway quickly and safely, while the smaller hand held portals are used for advanced parties and surprise attacks.

A friend of mine lent me his Rogue Trader books from Flight of Fantasy (2012 publications) and in the Battlefleet Koronus book it is mentioned that larger Eldar Ships can generate portals on planet surfaces to allow forces to attack.

"For those worlds without webway access, the Eldar utilise the nearest webway egress to come as close as possible, then move in at top speed. It is this same network that allows Eldar Corsairs to strike without warning and then slip away almost quickly as they came. Worse yet, the largest Eldar ships contain internal webway points (known as “wraithgates”), which are used to open warp portals to planetary surfaces so the Eldar can swiftly deploy ground forces while simultaneously providing covering fire from orbit."
