| I'd kill to have the Stormsurge available in normal games. | |

| Formation Kabalite Stormsurge 1 Archon 3 units of Trueborn or Warriors which must start the game in their raiders 3 units of Reavers
all the units begin the game either in reserve or on the board. The first turn you can place the Archon anywhere on the board, and then all other units within 12 inches. They are all treated as zooming until the beginning of the second turn. except for the jetbikes who are considered to have turbo boosted.
All enemy units within 12" subtract 3 from their leadership characteristic until the end of their next turn.

| That LD negative would be so awesome in a Freakshow list. | |

No worries, I wouldn't be posting if I was afraid of criticism. I guess you are right about my point on the archon; my complacency to the ap3 Huskblade may be due to the fact that in games I play my Archon rather conservatively. My ideas about the different detachments are crude; honestly the best way to go about them is to simply release a wych cult suplement. However I am adamant that the seperate warlord trait tables can help define the direction you want your Dark eldar army to go in. The special characters form a touchy subject; don't get me wrong, I was angry when they were cut and would be overjoyed to have them back, but I haven't put them in my list because I think that they are a lost cause. I just really cannot see GW bringing them back. Also I like the idea of helion troop choices. It would fit nicely, especially since the Baron was cut.

| I'm very hopeful that this codex was just a slap job to bring them in line with new product laws, and that the new 'dex will restore one or more of the special characters. If we don't get them back in the next book, we never will. | |

| So when can we expect a new DE codex to come out anyway? I think this one is pretty new and GW only releases one codex for every army per edition right? | |

| Sadly, we can expect to be stuck with this book for quite some time yet, since GW won't be updating it until they bring out 8th edition.
Although, even then I'm not exactly hopeful. It seems no one at GW plays DE or gives the slightest damn about them.

| Keep in mind that GW doesn't always release updates for a Codex every edition, it is just as likely that we don't see a new codex for several editions. For instance we got a new book finally in 5th edition but didn't get one for 6th only to get this joke of a Codex in 7th.
I still hold out hope, invain though it may be, that we will get a supplement that has formations, PfP charts, new items and Warlord traits specialized around the Kabals and Cults. I'm hoping for one supplement not two but have it divided into two parts, one focused on Kabals, and one focused on Cults within the same book.

| It doesn't really seem to me like they didn't care about DE but more like they do not know anything about them. They surely were hyping the covens supplement when it came out, they even put a haemonculus on the cover of the rulebook instead of some classic space marine artwork. | |

Sad but true, I've been thinking about the same. I fear also since we already had a wave of eldar, I think GW will focus on the rest of the armies for a long time now. I am actually kinda surprised that we don't have a Hitler reaction video to our 7th ed Codex... However, I found this to be painfully true as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MQTcV8pcZo

| While a rapid fire release cycle would normally irk me, I'm hopeful that THIS PARTICULAR one will right some wrongs caused by rushing our current book to print. | |

I mean, none of you asked me if I wanted to be a template weapon. Maybe being a Blast is just my lifestyle choice, you shapeists.
I expect a little more consideration in future. Best argument I've seen so far for adding a 'like' function to this forum.

| So I've had a busy weekend and wanted to throw my change into the bucket.
*Wyches- They need some sort of protection from shooting. If it's getting their dodge save in overwatch I would be happy. Simple and makes them more viable without giving them to much.
*Bloodbrides- Open up the weapons options. 4 wych weapons to every 5 man squad. I also wouldn't mind ghostplate as an option just because I like ghostplate and dislike dying in raider explosions. The armor is probably a points sink but, hey options.
*Wych Weapons- Give them all rending and be done with it. The re-roll to wound on hydra gauntlets are nice and I would be sad to see it go but, I'd rather just standardize the options. Plus, then I could use models with razor flails.
A final wish for wyches. A minor points drop please. They are a strength 3 toughness 3 melee unit.
*Incubi- Grenades and maybe a reason to take demi-klaives. I like this unit and love that they got a minor points drop.
HQs- When a faction is taking a 10 point minor character instead of taking a proper HQ something is wrong and GW should want to fix it. Our gear isn't terrible but, it leaves something to be desired and we could use more utility on them as well.
The Archon needs his teeth back. The Huskblade losing its AP 2 hurts badly. The only reason I've been taking him in lists is because the Shadowfield makes him more surviable than our other HQs. He sucks these days and it makes me sad.
So how to fix him? First off, let the Archon take a jetbike, skyboard or even scourge wings. Then give him a way to manipulate reserves. Even if it's only through a piece of wargear. With all the deepstriking our codex has and the push to use flyers (I think GW wants us to field flyers) this would help so much. I do not want to have to hope for a good roll on the warlord table to make a list work and I want to be able to do so without allies. Bonus points if it can negatively effect enemy reserves. I feel this would be fluffy as an Archon should be a master of just as planned having fought his way into control of a kabal.
*Heamonculus- Let them get clone fields. It's not much to ask for and would be useful on an HQ that doesn't really have a bunch going for it outside of only minor utility. I haven't managed to think of exactly what it should be yet but, I think the Heamie needs something more. Other factions have psychic abilities, orders or markerlights to buff units. This guy could bring more to the table. Reroll to wounds in a unit he joins would be nice or let posions wound on 3+ instead of 4? Maybe a piece of gear to improve FnP by 1? GW could make this guy far more interesting and useful.
*Succubus- I like her currently and use her as a secondary HQ often. If she dies leading a vanguard of grotesques or incubi it's okay my Archon is probably hanging out in the back trying to keep my opponent from getting slay the warlord. She murders other HQs aside from geared out Chaos Lords or Marine Chapter Masters geared for CC. Though, occasionally she gets popped by a power fist or something high strength.
*The Djin blade- Causes opponents in a challenge to lose (x) amount of ws. Hopefully, enough so as to make the bearer only able to be hit on 5+ or better yet a 6. Allow saves to be taken against the potential wound. Not great as it's still only ap 3 and an Archon is still only strength 3 but, I'd at least consider it.
*Fliers- Razorwings getting vector dancer would be glorious and maybe a points drop on shatterfield missles. The Voidraven needs a small points drop and an option to buy more bombs and a drop in points for missles would also help convince me to take one. Tank hunter could be interesting on this unit as well and give us more power against superheavies or armor in general. Also, strength D on the bomb.
*Flesh Titan- I'm still very okay with this idea. We need a LoW and after browsing Red Corsair's gallery http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-28269-45027_Dark%20Eldar.html I'm sold that we could have a nice looking and effective model. Maybe with 4 arms?
*Lord of War- Vect would be great. Hopefully, He brings army wide buffs, orbital bombardment at strength D and a horde of pleasure slaves. Honestly, I'm not sure what sort of rules he should have but, a LoW is something we deserve.
*Formations- This is were our army is falling behind in the current codex power creep. A formation to allow assault from the webway would be great. I think this topic could honestly use it's own thread entirely and could allow us to make armies more fluffy and yet still powerful.
*Final thoughts- Something I haven't seen brought up are models, box sets and the like. A kit that builds three grotesques would improve the model line. Also, Sslyths. I would love to field a large unit of these guys as my Archon's escort but, haven't found a conversion that I like enough to invest in and I don't want to buy 8 or more single models. Beastpacks could also use a box set.
