Harlequins bike loadout

So, I just scored four Skyweavers in a nice trade, opening up all but one of the harlequin formations for me.

Here's the question: how should I kit out the bikes?  Haywire Cannon or Shuriken Cannon? (Haywire Cannon is a 5 pt upgrade with a blast, 24" range, S4 AP4 Haywire attack.)  Glaive or Bolas? (Bolas are 12", Blast, S6 AP2, One shot, while the glaives are a melee weapon which are S-user AP3, with S and AP improving by 1 on the turn you charge. Bolas are standard and glaives cost 10 pts.)

I'm seriously torn.

I run 2 squads of 6. One with haywire and boas because I want them at range and then the others with Cannon and glaive. Str 5 ap2 on the charge works for me. I run the Falcons blade so their rerolls of 1 for jinks. Through in a lymena in a Venom, and bunches of reavers. GO BIKE FEST! Though if you do through in the reavers kit both out for Tank hunting.

I prefer to run mine with glaive and haywire - a unit of 4. They can pop a 3HP transport most of the time and charge the contents and win.

You can reroll all jink saves in that formation, not just 1s. I'm not a big fan of the haywire cannons on bikes in that formation because you should jink almost everything to get the rerollable 4+. I do like using glaives in it because they can get into combat easier, and absorb overwatch better than most unit we have access to.

Outside of the formation the haywire cannons can be good because their armor is also a 4+ so you should only have to jink things that are AP4. That way you can still shoot the blast. The cannon provides S4 AP4 blast so is actually handy against hordes as well as vehicles. I prefer the shuriken cannon, but if you're running harlequins you may not have a lot of ranged AV and this is basically the only place to get it.

This works about as effectively with shuriken cannons versus most transports, sometimes better.

Hmm. With both upgrades, do you think it's a bit expensive? At 65 pts a model, it seems like it could be two many eggs in one basket.
