Physics Inside the Webway Empty
PostSubject: Physics Inside the Webway   Physics Inside the Webway I_icon_minitimeWed Aug 19 2015, 18:06

I was just curious if anybody had any information regarding what it's like to be inside the Webway? As I understand it, it is a mixture of 'portals,' instantaneous travel from one place to another and 'spaces,' pocket dimensions and the like where structures can be built etc, which can include corridor like parts which connect some spaces together. But is there a limit to the physical space within these pocket dimensions? Is there oxygen in the webway? Or Gravity?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

There's a book, called Eon. Can't recall the writer. In it a crew finds an asteroid, hollow one, with a cylinder shaped hole drilled inside it. Endless, that is. In it there are areas where there is no oxygen, weird gravity, weird physics, stuff like that. Some areas you can live in and settle (and are indeed settled), some are inhabitable and need a proper gear to get through (say a spaceship of very advanced kind). I imagine the webway being that, a paradox tunnel (a network of tunnels) which have different laws in different parts. One of the best pieces of SF I've read.

As I've understood it from appearances in fictions (Warhammer Monthly Comic, A Thousand Sons, other places) its literally a collection of bubbles created "somehow" and held together "somehow" linked by a web-like network of tunnels.
I always like to think of it like a larger, grander version of the London Underground. Various stations built up and protected from the warp outside, each with its own purposes and tunnels leading out inbto other places in the Webway, and each of these stations featuring passages/escelators/portals to the real world.
