I'm sure I'm being stupid and blind, but if a Char has a Warlord trait named under his dataslate, for example Urien Rakarth has "Ancient Evil", do you HAVE to take it, or can I choose not to? Does this change if I do or don't make him my Warlord?

Yes, you HAVE to take it.
Where a character has a Warlord Trait listed, it is the one he must take and can not drop it or replace it.

It only applies though if you use that character as your Warlord. If they are not your Warlord, it has absolutely no effect.

Urien Rakarth only bothers to lead when he faces a truly worthy oponent, to for eveyone else he is sure that his aberation is more then up for the task. jocolor

Perfect, thank you very much. Do you have a page reference for me by any chance? Smile

This is absolutely the case for me, since his Warlord trait is virtually worthless.
