Sslyth as Raider Crew?

I was writing a blog post the other day about modeling crew on Raiders* and I came up with using Sslyth as Raider pilots.

A few questions, then. Would they even fit on "aftcastle" where the pilot usually stands? Could their lower-right arm be raised to be handling the controls, as a normal DE pilot would? And what problems might I encounter with the other 3 arms?

While I think the Sslyth is an awesome model, I've never had reason to buy one up until now. If anyone could compare, help me see if this idea is terribad or not, I'd be very grateful.

I think it can be done and would be pretty cool. You can use the arms from the raider with outstretched hands for the lower arms and have it stand at the controls. I think it would look really cool.

I also think it would look great. I'm planning on doing all sorts of different crew loadouts on my vehicles as I finish them.

With the Sslyth being made from Finecast, at least you can potentially re-position the tail and other parts to make it best fit. You could also make a little hatch in the flooring and have appear as though it is standing in/emerging out of the hatch. That's what I will be doing at some point with another beastie.

Ah, thanks for the replies! That hatch idea is pretty cool, I may need to try that!

If anyone else thinks this would/wouldn't work, please comment! It'll be a while before this plan goes into production, I think...

My only question would be what in the hell would the extra two arms be doing if they only need the two to drive the Raider? I'm totally on board with alternate drivers. Post a picture when you work it out!

Yeah, I'm trying to figure that out too. It'll probably be after Christmas when I get this stuff, but if I can work it out, I'll definitely post it then!

Found a hand with a long scroll on it and then a hand you can put a pen or pencil like object in and you will have a cool looking convertion with the Sslyth driving the Raider and counting up slaves.

Could just be raising his sword screaming and popping shots with his pistol in the air in excitment that he got to drive the Raider today?
