| Hi all,
My regular gaming group is holding a tournament in a few months and I'll be playing my DE. I'm considering whether to take some reavers but, as I've not played much in the last couple of years, I am a bit concerned about ignores cover weapons. I'm reading a lot about how common they've become. What are the main units that people are really scared of when they're running bikes apart from the obvious flamers?
Thanks! | |

| Like CptnMetal said, Imperial Guard can be annoying with Flamers, Wyvern and orders.
Helldrakes are fairly common, however CSM armies are not.
Not sure if Tau can get ignore cover via markerlights, I think they can.
Eldar Reapers ignore jink, and Wraithguard have D-flamers.
So yeah, Ignore Cover is a thing, but I wouldn't say it's crippling our army. There's other things that are pushing us behind on the power curve.

Tau can get it on anything by use of 2 markerlights and with their firepower and our fragility that usually means adios to whatever they fire at. Heldrakes are the worst though. AP3 and S6 so we literally can only survive if it rolls 1's to wound (and it can re-roll those).

| Dreadknights are pretty unpleasant, too. Especially when they can just teleport up to roast a unit on turn 1. | |

| More common with some armies them others. Just ask your opponent beforehand what Ignores Cover, and plan accordingly to avoid it. | |

| The Reavers have a ton of movement so be cautious where they move to. But Reavers are awesome in tournaments for grabbing objectives even if you reserve them.
I too was worried about the new amount if ignores cover. I ran into a marines player with a ton of Grav with ignore cover. I freaked at first until I realized a 5+ armor save means he wounds me on 5+.
Pick your spots. They have a place in your army

| Grav doesn't have ignores cover on its own. Did he have something else to give his marines that rule? | |

| Necron Tomb Blades can also Ignore Cover (if fitted with a cheap upgrade), and can take S6 AP5 blasts that are quite perfect at killing our guys . They're compulsory in a decurion, too, so a pretty good chance of seeing some in any Necron army. | |

Pretty much this. Understand where and how the ignores cover is coming at you and you should be able to avoid or kill most of it.

Yes he had Tygirius using Divination. We have another player who plays Ravenguard and will use the new formation that gives him Ignore Cover. I am sure another guy in our group will use the new White Scars wargear that gives the unit ignores cover

Pretty much this. Understand where and how the ignores cover is coming at you and you should be able to avoid or kill most of it. With Tau, it's probably easier to ask them what doesn't ignore cover.
