Looks to me like a NMM-like technique, but with a slightly blueish hue to it.

NMM = Non-metallic metal - that is, painting a metallic effect using paints that don't contain metal pigments, such as white and greys.
As for the huskblade, it looks like it could be accomplished with wet blending and/or layering. This should help.

Yeah kind of an NMM effects.
You could do that with an airbrush as well

You might already be following the paint tutorial in the GW advent calendar. But I'll post the link just in case. A bit toned down version of the same effect.
