| So I set about the task of maximizing venom spam on the battlefield just to see what I could craft.
That said, I knew I needed some anti-tank too, so needed ravagers etc. So this is what I came up with at 1850 points:
HQ: Lhamean in a venom
Troops: 4XKabalite warriors in venoms. (one squad has a sybarite to be my warlord and still allow me to have a warlord trait)
Fast: 6X venom (that's just fun to write....LOL)
Elite: 5 trueborn with 4X blasters in a venom 5 trueborn with 2X darklances (and one with a blaster because I had 15 points left over) in a raider w. a darklance and nightshields 5 trueborn with 2X darklances in a raider w. a darklance and nightshields. (these last two as a "poor man's ravager.)
Heavy: 3X ravagers with 3 darklances with nightshields.
So all in that works out to 12 venoms. With 20 darklight weapons for anti-tank.
The trueborn ravagers need to be deployed in cover so they won't need to move or else the two darklances inside would have to snap shoot.
Thoughts? | |

Or they can just jink since you'd only have to snap with the vehicle's dark lance, the trueborn can still fire away. For this concept I think you'd be better off going double CAD and just taking Kab-Venoms and Ravagers. With so many venoms Ob. Sec. is definitely worth keeping. 2 x lhameans in venoms 8 x 5 warriors in venoms (1 with a Sybarite) 6 x Ravager w/3 DLs Voidshield Generator w/3 shields =1850

| basically it is a AV12 bubble around your army (12" radius)
When you're shot at, the first hits go to the voidshield. When it takes a glancing or penetrating hit it goes down. So 3 of them would stop the first three shots that come at you (if powerful enough).
My concern, is that they will go down quite quickly. The night shields on the other hand are always there. So if you deploy in a ruin, you get a 3+cover save.

| I'd definitely go with the void shield. Remember that cover and void shields aren't mutually exclusive, so you can still get 4+ cover for most of your ravagers with a smart placement of the VSG (and potentially 3+ with the right warlord trait). There's now tons of stuff that ignores cover, and if you play ITC rules there's tons of stuff that just doesn't affect a VSG (haywire, melta, tankhunters, rending, etc.), in addition to all Grav and S5 or less shooting.
Also remember that you regenerate the shields on 5+ so you're almost never going to be completely defenseless, and you're getting an AV13 4HP scoring unit that will get ignored a lot of the time (so place it next to an objective if you can for when you need to move out later in the game).

| Gave this a try last week. (didn't use the voidshields as I played before everyone replied).
Worked amazingly well. My opponent was playing a flying circus style nids army. Our mission was "the relic" (which DE are notoriously bad at)
He did have some bad luck which helped me a lot. But the fact that I had so many redundancies built into my army meant it didn't matter so much what he killed.
He surrendered on turn 3!
What really helped was that with the night shields on the ravagers, I parked them in ruins and had a 3+ cover save. So I no longer had to consider jinking when they were shot at.
