Hi all. Its been a while.

Anyway, back on a painting binge. Just so you get a feel, my soldiers are black undercoat and clothes, incubi darkness armour with Teclis Blue edges (solid edge, not highlight, and on the edges of segments to give the impression of ceramic armour), Leadbelcher metal with ironbreaker blades, and the cloth tabbards are white with a coat of blue wash to give shadows and rot. Gives a really nice cold, frozen/glass knight look. Got myself an army of hightech liches.

I plan to do the same thing with the vehicles. Black inlays, incubi darkness plates, teclis blue edging and outline on the panels. Similar to this but with hard (rather than airbrushed) outlines.

But I want to steampunk up my army a bit. I plan to keep gun barrels as leadbelcher, but have blades and kneecaps with some sort of polished copper colour. Engines too. Lots of copper highlights and outter casings on dark silver innards. But I dont know what colour to use for the copper.

My brother uses Brass Scorpion for his Necron highlights and tanks, and while it looks good, its too matt for me. I want this thing to speak of hours of painstaking work with an oily rag til it sings, before being frozen as is. This thing has to cry out that its made of brass or copper.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

If you do not mind using non acrylic paints, nothing beats the finished effect of AK interactives 'true metal' or 'Xtreme metal' paint range. You actually HAVE to polish that paint after it has dried to make it shiny. It takes a little effort, but I don't know anything else that even comes close.
If you like me can't be in the same room as a bottle of white spirit, but want better quality than GWs glitter paints, I can recommend the 'Vallejo Air' metal paint range.
