1500pt ITC Tournament List

Around where I am at and the probability some other tournaments I go to will reduce points down to 1500pts here is a potential list I am thinking of using.

I am thinking i have enough AT with the Scat Bikes and Hornets at only 1500.  AI is easily achieved.  FMCs shouldnt be too big of a problem with the CTC, but There is a good amount of shot that could be TL'd with the Seer as well.  Armored Fliers pose a problem but not a lot in my meta nor am I too concerned about them in general.

I'd drop the blasters off of the warriors, then make all your Talos have ichor injectors. The chain flails aren't really worth messing with, imo.

That would leave you with 15 points left. Rather than a blaster, I'd probably consider putting either the spirit stone of Anath'Lan on your farseer to make powers easier to cast, or get a singing spear and an extra scatter laser on one of your bike squads.

Singing spears are good for lots of reasons, and are actually normally better against armour than a blaster since they're S9 when thrown.

I do like Ichor Injectors, but at the cost of the Blasters I do not believe are worth. I am pretty light on AT as it is, so removing even more in favor of something that may or may not make a difference to me isnt worth it. I like the Chain Flails because it is a cheap alternative to the Ichor Injector. If I had points (without removing things like Blasters) all 5 would have the Injectors. Shred is a nice benefit for only 5pts and 90% of the time I will be wounding on 2+ like Ichor Injectors do anyway.

I like singing Spears too, and again with 5 pts, I may do that. I would remove one of the Chain Flails for it if it seems like I need it.

I also thought about maybe swapping the Reavers for 2 x5 Mandrakes. They put out some nice shooting, can help with Scout armies, and can be very annoying to remove. Thoughts on this?

My thoughts are that the chain flails are almost worthless precisely BECAUSE you'll already have plenty of attacks wounding on 2+ against most things. So against the things chain flails would be helpful against, you don't really need the help.

And against tougher things like a T8 wraithknight that you're only wounding on 5+, the chain flails don't help much because you still need a 5+, and only do a max of 1 wound if you happen to succeed, where the injectors give you up to 3 wounds, wounding on a 2+.

At the very least, I'd swap 2 chain flails for an injector, and swap the 3rd for a singing spear. Then I'd still swap out the 2 blasters for 3 more scatter lasers or something. The 2 blasters really aren't doing you any favors by themselves, and your army is begging for points all over the place. It'd be different if you already had taken all of your auto-take upgrades like scatter lasers, singing spears, and ichor injectors, but you didn't, so your list is thirsty for points that your warriors happen to be inefficiently drinking.

Singing spears are ALWAYS worth it because it's a 5 point upgrade that upgrades your model's ranged weapon from 12" S4 pistol, to 12" S9 assault 1. Since this is on a BS5 model that you paid 100+ points for, 5 points is an incredible deal at that point.

Scatter lasers same sort of deal, particularly in a unit where you're already buying 2 scatter lasers, since not buying the 3rd makes the 3rd model useless for anything except soaking a wound, which will trigger a leadership test anyhow.

Ichor injectors are probably lowest priority though. I consider them a luxury buy. Something that's entirely worth it, but not something you should detract from elsewhere in your list to obtain. I just don't view blasters on warriors as that big of a positive to begin with.

I'd keep the reavers.

I agree with BetrayTheWorld, With this list Blasters arnt worth it, always take Singing spear and swap the Chain flails for something else.

Your Scatter bikes, hornets heck even reavers can really hurt vehicles, bikes aren't amazing at AT, but can really pull off some HP's if your hornets fail.

Also try to get 5 man Bike units, you can even take 1 with no upgrades, but 3 or 4 man bikes with 1 death must take a leadership test.

Reavers are different b.c you get upgrades for every 3, so taking them as 5man is a waste of points.
