As I've seen pointed out elsewhere, if a Tau player is letting you tank shock/ram their Stormsurges then chances are they've lost the plot already. It might be worth including the odd one just to make them aware it's a possibility but I wouldn't waste too many points on them, it's not like Tau really struggle to take down AV10 skimmers, you'll just have less to respond with cos you've spent the points on shock prows instead. At best I'd say it would delay them getting the anchors down by a turn, which is probably worth the investment on one raider, but no more.

I like that a shock prow raider or 2 could be target priority #1 for tau and stop stormsurges using anchors for a turn or two. Anyone else see any other potential advantages from this FAQ???

| Tau players (me ahah ) can now intercept and overwatch with Battlesuits with 2 weapons... And more... The consequence of the shock-anchors is that Tau players would not deploy the anchors so easily now (they just fixed it a bit) | |

| If they still get to death or glory, it would auto hit and auto pen then they would only need a stun, immobilized or destroyed result to stop it =/
but chain snares are only 5 points on a venom and we do have a 5++, so I dunno maybe

| An itty bitty Venom chainsnaring the mighty Stormsurge to death, would be a glorious sight indeed. Kinda like the Hoth battle? | |

| As written, the FAQ appears to remove the ability of a Stormsurge to use Death or Glory. That'd be interesting if the case.
There wasn't anything here that really changed my Tau experience. My local players don't use Tidewalls, and the "changes" to battlesuits (they can fire in Overwatch just like in the shooting phase) were how we played it anyway, so I'm not too concerned.

| No death and glory anymore? Where is that written? That's nice. Chain snares for everyone! | |

| They did clarify that crisis battlesuits can now take 2 of the same weapon, whereas previously the codex wording basically forced you to purchase the twin-linked version of the weapon if you tried to use more than 1.
So, we'll probably see more crisis suits with dual flamers, dual plasma rifles, etc.

My understanding of that one is if a Enemy unit charges a Tau unit that is already locked in combat, other eligible Tau units may use supporting fire. The unit already locked in combat does nothing.

Yeah, this is what they're saying. The non-Tau enemy unit locked in combat doesn't get shot. Just additional enemy units that try to assault into said combat can be overwatched by OTHER units NOT locked in combat using the supporting fire rule.
