| Hey! I played a game yesterday against Ultramarines with only Harlequins, it was great fun and I won the game. But I wasnt sure how to use the Voidweaver. I have seen in a few BRs that ppl fly them backwards to fire off more shots. But I cant seem to find anywhere how the other weapons are mounted on the Voidweaver or Starweaver for that matter. I can see the back weapon can only fire in the rear arc and that makes sense but what about the other weapons? Are they front arc or turret? Neither?? And where can I find the info? Anti-tank, I used Caresses to deal with his vehicles and walkers, and drop pods.. But I see some ppl prefer the Kiss, which I like as well but then I would have nothing to deal with the vehicles, dont trust our s6 cannons to do the job, I am not fighting DE or Harlies in my area.. Thanks goofydk | |

| I don't like this expression, but the voidweaver was TAX indeed from my games so far. Now I'm considering using the vehicle as cheap as possible because the prism cannon hasn't done any good work for me For the honor of Cegorach though, I gotta also admit that I'm not so good at gaming. | |

| The front Shuriken cannon is hull-mounted, while the main gun on top is turret-mounted. By driving them backwards you get the fire the main gun and the rear shuriken cannon, essentially with split fire.
Voidweaver's not as terrible a unit as people like to say - the small blast on the prismatic cannon is still a terror to MEQ, and you can engage light armor like Rhinos with it just fine. Think of it as an empty FA Venom with different guns and mirage launchers for 15pts more. Haywire Launcher is fine to leave on it if you've got a number of Voidweavers/Skyweavers that are launching haywire blasts around - but if it's just one, then I wouldn't bother with haywire.
I'm most fond of the caresses too, yeah. Keep in mind that the Troupe Master with caress will get 5/6 of a glance while regular players score 2/3 of a glance - so the Troupe Master + 3 or 4 players with Caresses will be enough to reliable strip 3HP. You can drop that down to 2 or 3 when you factor in the damage that kisses or embraces might do, as well as tossing a haywire grenade before the charge if you're bought one for the TM.

| My Voidweaver has been run twice, survived 4 turns in total and succeeded in missing twice, failing to wound and having the wound it caused saved by FNP. I don't expect it to do great stuff and it is meeting expectation aplomb. Yes, I am craving a sweet infantry unit to come my way but at the moment it has been tanks, Wraithknights and castellan robots that have begged for its attention. | |

Thanks for reminding me of this. I always forgot to exploit this split fire shenanigen x) - MHaruspex wrote:

I'm not sure of this though, cause Venom can shoot far away (36") than Voidweaver (24"). This is a big difference IMHO.

This explanation with the venom case persuaded me perfectly, and at the same time made me sad again...my poor voidweaver

| Drive it sideways, not backwards.
The rear Armour facing of a Voidweavers is actually pretty expansive due to the way the vanes on it curve. You can argue for a not-quite 180 degree firing arc, which is nothing to scoff at.
Point your front guns at one thing, spin to the very limits of their firing arc and see if you can catch anything with the rear gun. With some halfway decent positioning, it's not difficult to get all three guns going.
Also, Harlequins that can't drive straight and are eternally drifting around straight corners is an amusing idea.
