The Exiled Forces of Ciirian D'raque - *updated 1/18/15 custom Coven force added

Normally I'm actually pretty 'meh' on that base black with hyper highlights that is the current 'classic' paint scheme for DE.
But, i dunno, something about the way you're doing it really does it for me, I love the way these look. Maybe it's the purple skin and bronze with the green, I dunno. Looks awesome though.

Your two variations of Ciirian are excellent characters, dynamic and very well done. His throne is looking pretty good too.

Thanks for the compliments Thor -- I tend to use a mix of black and whatever color im using for the first coat, then after highlighting I try to trace under the lines on the armor platings and then use multiple cycles of washing and touching up. Thanks Gobs -- the character is really cool to me and really enjoy making characters.


..............Anyway, did a bit more upgrading on the painting. Not sure what to add to Ciirian yet, but I think it will be easier to figure out once I get the vehicle going. Also heres some more touched up pics of the "Bodyguards"

Got a few more figures done -- got a much clearer image of Ciirian on the throne, added a green flame to his hand (hope it looks like it) and cleaned up his paints. The other two models are going to be "count as Haemonculi" for my Wych Cult forces. They have heavier extra armor with poisoned blades and liquifer guns for when I need WWP's. The armor could distribute stored toxins into the air to give the benefit of a haemon joining a unit. That was my thought in making them the whole concept, bits build and paint job was all done over past two days. and I wouldnt call finished yet., Anyways heres some pictures

Got parts and started working on Dais of Desturction model. Here are some WIP shots. Still trying to figure out where to place the other two dark lances. I know the GS work is a bit rough, im not the greatest, yet I hope with some paint and trophies in the right places it will look good. The throne is magnetized for when I want to use the model as a regular Ravager.

I didn't expect the falcon side bits to be angled like that when you were talking about the design, but I like it. Looks "swooping"

I wasnt either originally. Wanted them to come closer together but while playing with parts thats how it ended up

I'm also limited by my tools --- plastic clips, super glue and greenstuff

Got the weapons, attached them. Primed the model, started adding some detail and decorations. WIP shots. Think i like the black hull of the ship, what color for the back fin tho? Was thinking some sort of green markings on the hull/wings tho.

Good progress. Some detail work and it will be awesome.

Here are some of my "Dark Eldar Wraithguard". With the new Eldar codex, I plan on reworking Ciirians fluff, but right now hes going to be used as a Spiritseer. Using a perverted form of the necromancy the Craftworlders use, he brings to life his own Ghost Warriors who are bent to his will.

Thought I'd add a picture of an idea I was working on. After seeing the giant new necron thing, the guy inside was too cool. I had an idea of modifing it to be a count as avatar. Here is what I modified in paint to get an idea of what I hope to do.

very nice Avatar idea, look forward to seeing this. i especially like the howling banshee conversion, remind me of female Incubi overall great work so far.

So heres a test of the Kabal color scheme. All thats done is the base. I am debating between a blue or purple wash.





I think it looks sorta "Wraithkind" and since my original background, which I plan to change somewhat, involved them I think it is fitting.

Here is a test model for my Dark Eldar "Coven" Warriors. Trying to figure out how to position the rest of the arms if they should be shooting our holding the gun out with some other weapon.  I have enough bodies to make 10 of them, just working on how to arm them all.

Testing out the color scheme for my Dark Eldar Kabalites. What do you guys think of them alongside the purple Wyches? Think I'm going to get rid of the green 'tube' not sure. Also what do you think should go for the topknot -I was thinking purple or a darker green?

I like the posing on your archon. Much better than the original model. He looks very cool and dangerous, and the parts you have added really work nicely with the whole thing.

Here is the Archon I have been working on. Still feels like he needs something else tho not sure what.


I have been working on all my kabalite forces. as of right now I have assembled about 20 Warriors with Rifles.  My old trueborn unit with corsair cloaks and shard carbines I requipped into a) 4 w/ Blasters b) 2/ S.Carbines and c)4 as Sybarites/Dracons just to make out different guys

       

Here is where I am with my Kabalite force. I started working on these when new codex came out. Still got some stuff to touch up but I think I like where they are going, tho I wish I could do better with the eyes.

Right now I have 21 w/ Rifles, 2 w/ Cannons, and a few squad leaders. Not sure what equipment to give (tho i do like the look of the leader having a CC weapon of some sorts) Also I have 4 with Blasters. I have between 15-20 additional warriors --- can anyone offer any suggestions on what to arm them with?

Looking good, Ciirian, I especially like the hooded guy with the splinter cannon.

Personally I like the model. Anything made in plastic is good to me. I think with the pose he was in they were trying for him being perched above a fallen enemy, arms crossed all bad -like and surveying the area for his next victim. At least that was my interpretation. It was did look a bit award tho, but thats how I thought it was intended to be. But being plastic, it fully integrates with every other Dark Eldar kit so there is that which I consider a major plus. Also the way the body is positioned I think would make a great basis for a Drahzar figure.

The head it comes with (while being cool and unique) should have also had a fancy helmet option. Thats the only real negative thought about it was. If I didn't have the old archon heads laying around I would of looked toward Dark Elf Executioner helm or upped a Kabalite helm.

There is one part I dislike - the cape. What archon would be caught dead wearing that?
