I've freshly landed and decided to set up a base of operations here in the Dark city after making many an anonymous visit. I felt it prudent to formally introduce myself before invading any of the other forum topics.

I hail from the frigid lands known as Canada, home of moose, maple syrup, polite neighbours and people who happily help propagate stereotypes about ourselves. I've been playing Warhammer 40k for almost 10 years now but never got serious into it until about 3 years ago. I started with chaos space marines, took a few years break (college and life hit) and came back to... well we won't talk about what the chaos codex had become when I got back. I decided then that since I'd always loved the style of craftworld Eldar I would give a new force a shot. I started the craftworld kin a couple years back, avoided buying wave serpents all through 6th and now get the odd match in with my CAD list using no WK or scatbikes. In case it's not clear I have a strong fear of ever being labled that "fun" guy and strive to make fun casual lists. After having fun with Eldar our group had a player decide he wanted to play Eldar too, seeing as we have a small group where I'm from I felt having a duplicate of an army was unacceptable and decided to start a new force. Having loved the ways of the space elf so much, and loving the models of the dark kin, it was inevitable that I jumped ship to the Dark Kin. And so I stand now, a fresh convert starting my force in march of this year and enjoying every minute of the process.

I've had an account on DakkaDakka since 2014 so if my name looks familiar you may have seen me there. I look forward to interacting with everyone here and absorbing all the knowledge I can about tactics, painting, modelling and the ways of the city.

Thank you for the warm greetings (and glasses of questionable contents). I'm excited to start up a project log here that I hope many of you will enjoy.

@CptMetal: I'm actually currently reading it right now. I'm halfway through book three. It's my favourite trilogy set in the 40k universe by far, a very nice relief after the disappointment that the Ahriman books were. The books really helped bring many of the units from the tabletop to life for me, particularly the coven units of which I generally had no interest in adding to my force. Now thanks to Bellathonis and Xagor (that wrack is quickly becoming my favourite character) I'm very excited to purchase a box of Wracks and paint up my Haemonculus.
