| Greetings.
Since I am tailoring a list, I wondered. How good are Reavers for cutting up blobs of infantry? Preferably MEQs and such.
My thanks. | |

| Reavers are good but if you are really tailoring your list I'd probably go for as many Ravagers as possible. Each Ravager fires 9 S5, AP2 shots which should kill 5 MEQ each turn (barring cover saves). A similar points value of Reavers does 4 S4 Rending HoW plus 2D6 S6 Rending HoW which does just under 5 MEQ on average, including their melee attacks but not taking into account losses from Overwatch. | |

| If you're tailoring for MEQ, go for Ravager. Reavers are great, but a little overpriced in my opinion, especially when they can be shot down by a Boltgun (if they didn't turbo-boost). As a unit, they also have far too large a tabletop footprint. | |

| Some other great MEQ killers are Medusae (from Court of Archon) with their AP3 flamer
Same with the Dark Artesian formation, which allows you to deep strike a Chronos with his S3 AP3 flamer. You dont get to charge, but with the MC profile (allowing for move thru cover) along with the FnP you should be able to survive SOME grav fire, and will laugh off plasma.
Funny how people on this thread dont like reavers, I thought they would be one of the MVPs vs MEQ...

| I thought the point of Reavers was that a squad of 3 with Cluster Caltrops and a Heat Lance is a bit of a dirt-cheap multi-purpose toolkit.
Enemy in cover? Cluster Caltrops! Invisible enemy? Cluster Caltrops! Enemy hides in METAL BAWKSES? Heat Lance then Cluster Caltrops! Terminators? Heat Lance and JsJ! Hordes of squishies? Cluster Caltrops, HoW and then H&R!
They're not really optimised for any of that compared to other choices, but they can do all of that when others could really only do one or two...

I love me some Reavers but this was about killing lots of MEQ and we have better tools for that specific job.

| I will certainly look into a dissie-ravager, and I was planning on reavers anyway but to what extent was bothering me, and I will also have a Razorwing with dissies and monoscythes. The medusae I will probably get once I start with a Court.
But I must say thank you for all the advice
