| That looks awesome dude! Twisted and evil and vicious mine's just a simple head-swap and a few less armour plates to accentuate the thin-waist aspect a little. Gonna have to put a little more thought into it now If it helps, I've found the new Sylvaneth stuff fantastically easy to paint. The twisted branches and deep indents lend themselves really well to laying down a darker basecoat and drybrushing a lighter one over the top. Even my rudimentary painting skills worked ok! Oh, and I'm with you on the eye-twitch Calyptra. I came back to 40k after a hiatus since 5th because I saw the new Sylvaneth models and thought 'god-damn those new wood elf models look good'. Then I went and read what happened with the whole 'End Times' thing, the fact that Lizardmen are now sort of daemons of order rather than kickass sapient dinosaurs, all the Elves are all buddies and Slaanesh is gone for some reason... I'm glad I wasn't a Fantasy player. I'd have found that sort of change fantastically alienating... _________________ Check out may pan-Eldar projects Exodites, Corsairs, Craftworld, True Kin, Croneworld (soon) and one Shadowseer!: http://www.thedarkcity.net/t14405-corsairs-exodites-craftworlders-and-hopefully-kabalites-soon | |

| Thanks squidmaster. Glad you like them Clyaptra, I have no doubt I'll spam a load more before long. Yeah I painted some of the Wracks and it was base, dry, ink, dry, done. So I'm pretty happy with that. It wasn't so much the lore that they messed with it was the rules change I didn't like. Anyway without further adieu, Sascha Vykos, Head Haemonculi. I can taste the slave points for Jan's Vow... _________________ Myca's Surgeon Slab: Blood Doll Build Log

| Some great conversion work going on here Myca. My fave has to be the talos one though. Just inspired. Looks so creepy and brutal, and the whole theme works so well _________________ My DE project log :- Harlequin Carnivale - La Danse Macabre My Wargaming blog :- Objective Secured | |

| I leave the dark city for one week and someone else is doing Vampire Dark Eldar!? Sweet. I really like the Conversions man. I'm surprised at how well the Sylvaneth line works for the Undead. I may have to grab a few and experiment...eventually.
The Ghouls and War Ghouls are lovely along with your Talos. The Double Tail was a very nice touch. Yours makes me feel like I didn't convert mine enough xD
Out of curiosity do you plan on expanding with Kabalites and doing some Vampiric conversions for them as well? Do you have any plans you'd like to reveal to us if so?

| Thank you very much.
I am in love with the Tzimisce, their lore, history and powers. Just enamoured really. So having something so close to that in the 40K universe was just asking for it.
I know the true kin can't do the ol' Bonesinging thing because that'd mean getting their psychic on all up in Commorragh. Which we all know is one of the few things actually frowned upon. On the other hand I see no reason as to why they couldn't just use tortured Eldar Bonesingers in Realspace to craft Wraithbone infused bone. We have to dilute it because Wraithbone is hard costly to come by. A tortured song, being a little off key as it is combined with imperfect materials - I'm sure there's a laurel in here about a craftsman and his tools - is why the Ghouls, War Ghouls and Vozhd don't look quite as... Uniform as the constructs their Craftworld cousins can make. I'll post the full lore in the appropriate section.
Yeah Kabalites are either next or next, next but not next, next, next. I am torn between doing a Malkavian themed Harlequin detachment called "The Last Masquerade" and a Tzimisce/Lasombra themed Kabalite Realspace Raider Detachment called "Shadows of the Leviathan's Coil". I have an aesthetic planned for them both that I think/hope will look stunning if I can pull it off. I'll no doubt end up flipping a coin to pick which one to do first and second. There's also going to be a Toreador themed Craftworld detachment called "The Wilted Rose" but I'm still working out the aesthetics and lore on that one so it'll be last. All of them are going to be 750 points and have intersecting background lores.
I might be naughty, show a deplorable lack of self control and buy the bits to make a character from the Kabalite faction. Maybe. I mean, I am waiting on the base for my Cronos. I think it'd be rude to waste time...

| So the Cronos - Vozhd - is now complete. I did start airbrushing stuff but then my airbush packed in... So I'm waiting for new bits to arrive. I did manage to undercoat the for Grotesques so I should begin painting them this week. _________________ Myca's Surgeon Slab: Blood Doll Build Log

| Another fantastic conversion one of the main purposes of the Dark Artisan is to scare your opponent witless when you WWP in right next to them, so these are perfect for that! Can't wait to see them painted _________________ Check out may pan-Eldar projects Exodites, Corsairs, Craftworld, True Kin, Croneworld (soon) and one Shadowseer!: http://www.thedarkcity.net/t14405-corsairs-exodites-craftworlders-and-hopefully-kabalites-soon | |

| Thank you both.
Though I am not nearly as happy with my painting as I am with my converting skills. So prepare to be disappointed.

| You and me both! I wouldn't worry overly about it I'm sure we won't be disappointed You'd probably have to spray-paint them into oblivion to negate the kickass modelling... _________________ Check out may pan-Eldar projects Exodites, Corsairs, Craftworld, True Kin, Croneworld (soon) and one Shadowseer!: http://www.thedarkcity.net/t14405-corsairs-exodites-craftworlders-and-hopefully-kabalites-soon | |

| Thanks again, Ynnead. I will totally keep you posted whether you like it or not.
It will be Blood, flesh and bone. Though the aerials will be metallic and the armour - okay his face mask - will be black.

| Is it just me or is that Cronos more intimidating then the Talos? Marvelous work on the conversion by the way! _________________ Project Log The Slave Games

| Thanks a lot.
I mean maybe but I kind of think it's fair. It needs to harvest extra pain/fear to feed it's children.

| So that's em all airbrushed - I finally figured out what the issue was - Highlighted and Inked. Just waiting for two more highlights and we'll move onto the flesh.
So the question I guess I pose is how to paint the holey parts of the Talos and Cronos. Should I paint that part as raised flesh with holes in them? Anyone Trypophobic? Would the Haemonculi use such a phobia in battle? _________________ Myca's Surgeon Slab: Blood Doll Build Log

| Had my first game last night ( story for the slave hunt to follow) and despite getting pounded by no less than two Onagers and being reduced to nothing but a Talos I still managed to scrape both a win and - by my count - a profit in slaves... Though only just hahahaha.
But thank you yes. I am very pleased with how they look on the table. _________________ Myca's Surgeon Slab: Blood Doll Build Log

| Yeah so I loath painting and will do anything to avoid it at times. So I give you a test model for my Leviathans Coil Dark Eldar detachment. The aesthetic is planned out the model very much is hack and slash. Still loads of sculpting and stuff to do. All of the sculpting in fact. _________________ Myca's Surgeon Slab: Blood Doll Build Log
