| Hey guys
I have a question for you. I have been playing dark eldar for a long time and still love them. I have recently started collecting eldar and harlequins as well, mainly use them as allies. Anyway the question is, with the new fraction coming, ynnari, how should I paint my armies if I want to be able to play ynnari as well and not buy double or triple of everything? It will take a lot of venoms to be able to play 3 different armies, dark eldar, corsairs and the new ynnari, painted in 3 different color themes.. Everything could be painted in the same color.. but that would be odd to see dark eldar and eldar painted the same way. In tournaments my ynnari army at present would consist of iron colored dark eldar and yellow eldar.. not exactly uniformed army. Hope you understand the question and my problem, don't feel like buy or painting a bunch more dark eldar and eldar in a different color..
Thanks | |

| Being Ynnari, in my opinion, doesn't mean that DE and CWE necessarily have to give up the colors of their origin, so I'd just paint them all with their own unique themes. You can unify them with something a bit more subtle, like making a ynnari symbol or something and painting it on chestplates, shoulderpads, etc.
In one of the leaked pics, it actually looked to me like there might have been an upgrade kit attached to some of the wyches with some sort of symbol on them. It was admittedly hard to make out, though. In any case, it wouldn't be hard to just use iconography like that to designate them as followers of ynnead while maintaining their own individual themes.

| I don't think it would be weird at all to paint all your Eldar in the same scheme. There's a number of folks who do that. | |

| Thank you for the replies Something to think about. I will consider painting my eldar the same way as my dark eldar. But won't decide until I actually read the new book. | |

| Yeah painting them all the same colour would look cool What i quite like doing is doing different colouring for each faction, but within the same palette so they look unified but different. Say if you've got darker iron Dark Eldar, perhaps do your Craftworlders in a lighter metallic silver unified on the tabletop by both being in the range of silvers, but distinct in the shade you use | |

| I'm of mind to paint all of mine the same as well, but if I want to separate them slightly perhaps a minor colour to pick out each faction, such as Purple for the Dark Eldar troops, Blue for Craftworlder (really whatever you want)
If you really want to you could use the same technique for picking out Ynnari and normal troops for your armies as well (if you plan on going that far.

| My own army has always been horribly disjointed, the Craftworlder's bright, solid colours clash with the dark silvers, bronze highlights, black undersuits and deep green-silver vehicles of my Commorites, none of my Troupes are the same colour scheme as any other Troupe, my Shadowseer's are rainbows in their own right and my three Deathjesters are identical shades of Blacks and purples. And I refuse to acknowledge the colours of my Corsairs.
Honestly, the Ynnari fluff has given me a massive wave of relief. Now all I need to do is slap some iconography on everything and say that the army is a hodgepodge of Eladrith Warriors fighting under the banner of Ynnead.

+1. Part of my ynnari army here, I believe it perfectly fits the fluff in the book (detailed lists in my signature). I just added the symbol of Ynnead here and there. Unified scheme would be cool but I prefer to emphasize the characteristic of each faction. And again, cause it's important for me , the fluff supports the different color schemes.

| Generally you have two complimentary colours for each point of primary colour on a chart. For instance, blue/white/orange all look unique but would work together to create a force. Same as purple/gold/orange or green/blue/black, here is a chart to help | |

| Personally, I do a scheme coulors and spin them around. For example, my main colors are Blue-White-Gold and on one unit that means Blue Armor, White Cloth and details, Gold plates etc. on the other White Armor, Blue Cloth etc etc. | |
