Wow. So fake animals dying in a fake dystopic setting to make fake plastic fur on a model is wrong.
Who would have thought?
This is a bot mad to me. I will choose to take it as a joke.

I get the angle they're coming from. They're trying to eliminate all fictional fur wearers so that it doesn;t promote real fur wearing. Its a stupid link, but the link is there.
Though personally I think PETA trying to hold Eldar to Human standards is a tad racist.

Yea, lets send PETA some Haemonculi artworks and Nurgle and Slaanesh and ask them if they really mean that on the W40K battlefields nothing compares to critters suffering...

Of all the things people can have agains this story, it's the small part of furrwearing they get upset about. I agree with the idea that furrwearing shouldn't be pircured as "cool" but it's still explained. And in the part with Leman Russ, he's wearing people that happend to become wolves right ? So... not really animals, in a humans not refered to as animals kind of way.

Real Eldar don't wear fur. Real Eldar wear the flayed skin of the still living enslaved lesser races. Support PETA, wear skin.

While I agree wholeheartedly with their cause, I can't help but feel that there are bigger and more productive fish to fry than sending a soon-to-be-ignored letter asking a company to remove little plastic fur capes from their little plastic space aliens.
If I gave money to PETA I'd be slightly miffed that this is what they are using it for. Hence why I give money to the RSPCA instead.

Totally agree. Good cause but an utter waste of time and energy on this occasion.

You put it "still living enslaved lesser races."
I would actually pay for another Archon model if he was in a dynamic pose (think something like Lelith's current model) mid-way through the act of tearing a victim's skin off in one clean motion. Is that metal enough for you?

I think PETA have actually done a clever thing with this. They'll have known there's no way GW will change any models based on this request. But they've managed to highlight an important issue, and get a lot of people talking about it, in places where it wouldn't normally be discussed.

That's one way of looking at it. Personally I don't think they're that smart, but they are that fanatical!

I think its sad. With nutjob statements like these, people devaluate their cause.

I think Peta is so devalued at this point that this really does not do more damage than has been done elsewhere.
Peta are not a cause I would support at this point in any way shape or form.

I mean, i get what they are doing, but this would be just as useful as an anti-racism activist group objecting to 40k because of the Imperium's rampant xenophobia.

Planetary genocide with biological weapons? Sure, why not. Just don't wear any fur and/or fur analogs while you are watching children melt. We don't want you to send the wrong signals to the public. #FightingTheGoodFight

WHTV Tip of the Day - Fur Coats. It's from November last year, would have been too funny if it was actually posted today.

Note: I am merely messing around with my letter. I hope you all enjoy to some extent.
Dear PETA
Warhammer 40k has far more Human (and Xeno) rights violations then it has Animal rights as such it is the BEST setting to base all of our moral and ethical beliefs on. Please note that in this setting there are SEVERAL species that wear the flesh/skin/faces of slain enemies (Most of which to your great relief no doubt are sentient and or humanoid in nature), and some their bones and other bodily parts. Xenophobia, Religious Discrimination, lack of freedoms and many other problems and phobia's that's names don't even exist in the modern English (High Gothic) language are rampant throughout the forty first millennium. But don't worry the Space Wolves will make sure to protect us, the Emprah Willing.
You stated in your argument that you are worried about how this would affect people's views on wearing furs and thought that some would think of it as "cool". I would like to remind that there has not been a single (reported) case of people finding the wearing of another face on top of their own "cool". We will concede Skulls and Bones though, as those are pretty freaking cool to wear animal or otherwise. My personal favorite is this lovely Tzaangor skull I've been carrying around recently. Although I am unsure if that falls under Animal or Human Rights abuse... moving on!
While I have many more points to bring up I'd like to close with this. I Rhivan Archon of the Kabal of the Nightsworn, destroyer of countless fictional worlds, slayer of millions of filthy mon-keigh, and drinker of souls must now sharpen my blade to sate my eternal hunger for souls. Have a wonderful day and please don't look behind your back for the next 48 hour, if your wondering why I'm telling this it is to merely instill as much fear as I can, as if basting a turkey which I will then proceed to torture.
-Insincerely Rhivan

I actually DO think that writing GW to inform them to kindly ignore PETA is something worthwhile. I wouldn't want GW to actually be influenced by those crackpots.

Great idea. Sometimes people know something's bl**dy stupid, but can't come up with a decent reason to tell people to sod off.
A letter from their customers would be just the right excuse
