| Anyone going to be making a Wych gang for Shadow War?
So far I am trying to decide between
syren with shardnet & impaler 8x wych with chainhook and blade venom 15 pts left over
or
syren with shardnet & impaler 9x wych with chainhook 5 pts left over
anyone know in this game is another body worth more than rerolls on everyones to wound? Also with the extra 5-15 points is camogear on a couple models the best investment?

| There's thread in the tactics discussion that has been going on for a few days. The thread title is off from what it should be. I think the OP had stayed up to late and was posting from his tablet...
I don't believe many people have gotten many matches in yet but, gear has been the most discussed topic.
Your list seems really solid and I'm waiting to hear about people's in game experience.

I enjoy it and my local is doing a campaign. Yes I've used them, if they get into melee (I was uscing Chain-Hooks and Blade venom) they are amazing. you will want to run alot and hug LOS alot too. They are fun, but honestly Harlequins are better tho you get 4 less models.

| Harlequins are pretty widely regarded as the best team out there as far as I can tell. | |

| I got coerced into doing a shadowrun event because my Warhammer store replaced 40k day with shadowrun day. I was gonna use Wyches but my Harlequins were already painted and based so I used those instead, gave them wargear "that looked cool" out of their little pamphlet without actually reading the rules, and wrecked house while proceeding to not care at all.
I wish it was 40k day again ._.

I wish it was 40k day again ._. Then talk to them, we have a few not wanting to play it either and sense the games take 45min I bring my 40k armor to play with them afterwords. We are actually using going to us Necromunda Campaign parts with Shadow war charts and armies but letting players play with gangs, it works out well.

| I did, and the manager says 40k is still fine, but everyone else wants to play shadowrun so it's either play that or don't play at all. The fact I can win without even trying is pretty sad too. | |

Play Wychs then Harlequins are by far OP honestly. I had a much harder time (in a good way) with Wychs. Always a Invul with -2 when running and OP pistols. Wychs are more tactical and less "bullet to combat"

| I already signed up and played my first game and organized my forces as Harlequins.
And you're literally telling me to have more fun by playing a bad force.

You acted like you wanted a challenge with this statement, and Wychs are not "bad" they are more rock, paper scissor just like ALL THE OTHER ARMIES ARE besides Harlequins. Yeah Tau will wreck wychs and heavy looking GSC/Scouts but Re-roll Wounds, cant parry and 4++ in melee is REALLY strong. I suggest Wychs not b.c they are bad, but b.c you need to be more tactical and I guess i'm wrong but tactical is more fun IMO.

| I didn't act like I wanted a challenge I acted like I wish it wasn't "play shadowrun or don't play". How you extracted that idk maybe I should be more specific. I just want to play the game I bought not the game I physically can't buy. Harlequins being good (OP is an overstatement just learn to position yourself) is a consolation more than anything because if I had to actually invest effort to understand and play the game I probably wouldn't play at all, much like why I don't own the General's Handbook. Plus I have the best looking force there bar none since my clowns are my vanity army, and their playstyle and character perfectly suits my attitude towards the game as a whole. | |

Its not for everyone for sure, just like AoS. My local is a bit different sense we play so often we are using Shadow war more as a break from 40k. But there are players that still want to play 40k for sure. If no one there is willing to play 40k with you then that really sucks.

| I know people think I'm jaded against the game there is really nothing technically wrong with it besides no one knowing how to play obviously. My issue is it's not the game I wanna play but I have to play it or nothing at all. That being said if clowns are as good as people say I will hopefully win the event. | |

Played wychs 5x, Necrons 2x, scouts 1x, orcs 3x harlequins 2x and csm 1x I've played against Tau a few times, all the above and Admech 1x IMO, CSM and Harlequins has the highest potential from what i've seen, CSM b.c if your Leader is played well it will be the most Bad@ss model in game and the bolters/ammo and marks are soooo good lol.

LOL, well Harlequins will do that, they are fun even tho they are a little stronger, I had a lot of fun with them. We have 3 Ork players (long time ork players) they didnt want the orks that came with the kit so I now have about 40 Orks for basically free lol. We will be doing videos so I am playing with green fungus for the 1st time.

| Played 2 games last night with my CSM tzeentch. 4x marines with inferno boltguns and a champ with powersword. My buddy played syren and blood bride with shardnet/impaler, and 6 wyches with pistols, and poison knives. I think i sniped down/pinned every model but they syren still made it into combat and killed 3 of my guys 1 by 1 lol. The other 2 just bottled the hell out.
didn't help that my guns kept jamming.

didn't help that my guns kept jamming. Wychs need to Run and stay in LoS at all times, keeping them in Pairs helps too (b.c of being Pinned). They are fun, but sense they do not Shoot, I feel many players wont like playing them. Shooting is more fun in SW:A than in 40k imo.
