I was looking for the "Like" button but realised I actually wanted the "Oh god, he's right isn't he? Where's that bottle of vodka?" button. Pretty much everything I've seen of 8e edition so far makes Space Marines better and does almost nothing for us.

Yep. Marines are the big winners this edition... Shocker. 10 man devastator squads will rule 8th. Every SM army will have a couple of them at least. Pure DE will be shot to pieces even quicker than usual.

| Everything is even more deadly, so it seems. We have blasts, on 3 infantry units no less. We still havent seen shredder. Its getting better by the looks of it. No chance to hurt yourself, Split Fire.
Bomber might be better with its blasts weapon and rockets and bombs.
Also plasma nades, we will see who gets them. As they are no longer tied to melee, they may be given more freely.
Dont panic just yet, we still dont have big picture.

| I'm not saying it couldn't turn out fine. Just that currently it would require many more things being revealed that benefit us than the numerous buffs to space marines that it currently appears to be. In other words I'm hopeful but so far we've been given very little reason to be. | |

| Heavy bolters got a boost vs space marines, while getting worse against us.
Doesn't sound too bad to me.

24 Die3 shots per turn, in a squadron of three would be 72 die 3 (up to 216) str 4 ignore cover shots?
yeah, methinks some of these weapons/vehicles will be toned down a bit Right now a wyvern has 2 twinlinked heavy 2 shots that are blast. so it would in theory be 8d3 per wyvern or 24d3 from a unit of 3

Doesn't sound too bad to me. On the other hand you've basically just seen the firepower of Tau and Space Marines pretty much doubled. Our cruisers skimmers and infantry can't repel firepower of that magnitude!

No one is panicking. At least i'm not. I'm not even upset. Just looking at the rules released so far and commenting that there's nothing here that will lift pure DE up from the bottom tier. Quite the opposite. I hope your right that when we get the full picture and rules for our weapons we get enough buffs to make DE viable.

| While i doubt they will stay the same, splinter racks twin linking weapons seems like it could be hilarious | |

Yeah I was saying that 10man Trueborn with 2 Cannons (if everything stays the same) could be 40 shots.

| And then you look at a unit of Tau Broadsides and see each one of them putting out 16 S5/7 shots at a different target. | |

To be Far, they will move and have -1 to BS and they are 30" where Cannons are 36"

| Well,I don't mind the changes, we've probably all sat there at one point and wished our twin linked lascannon model could be 2 shots instead of a to hit reroll, and the combi rule is fine so long as both combi and twin linked stuff comes with a substantial price hike next edition.

The idea of TL should be dbl shots, its 2 guns.... So its a happy change for me lol. TL should have been something else, like "Guided Shot" the shot has a guiding system making it more reliable to hit.

| The Combi-weapon change is more of a boost to Chaos Space Marines than it is to loyalists, and whilst the twin linking giving double shots looks amazing at first it's only an improvement of about 1/3rd over the current Twin-Linked rule since you no longer get re-rolls. I fully expect certain weapons to get adjusted as well since a Punisher cannon putting out 40 shots is a bit rediculous.
Heat Lances just chainged their role to monster hunting now since they'll do 2D6-picking highest Damage against models at half range, and not limited to vehicles by the look of the Melta rule. S6 does mean they wont be used against most vehicles now though. Lets hope Dark Lances follow the changes that the Lascannon got and Haywire still works to keep our anti-tank. The removal of blasts means a Shredder might finally be an actual option worth trying and Void Raven's with Dark Scythes could be very good (2D3, S8, AP -3, D: D6 shots sounds lethal to me).

| CSM termies are going to be crazy now lol.
But this also gives more hope to units like Wracks and their special weapons (Ossifer and LG) might make them desirable

| Oh damn! You are right! I need to get a combi weapon on all my Chaos Terminators soon! Better a combi Melter on everyone. Pure speculation but I imagine haywire weapons havon a better profile when used against vehicles. Would be nice if they worked against wraith units too | |
