I apologize for the spelling errors I am writting this from my phone. I just wanted to mess around with some list ideas before 8th edition please give me uour honest feedback. I think i will struggle against armour in 7th edition, but with vehicles switching to toughness chart in 8th i might be alright.

in 7th, play for objectives when facing too many vehicles. and keep in mind that against anything but walkers, your aberrations are still gonna be damn good at killing AV. other than the downside you mentioned, i don't see anything wrong with the list.

Why not cut the coven coterie for another grotesquerie, I don't see any compelling reason to take a coven coterie frankly. I don't think it's worthwhile paying 10pts per abberation to exchange flesh gauntlets for scissorhands esp with the 8th ed changes you mentioned.

This will give you an extra venom and 125pts for something like haywire scourges or reavers. Assuming you're going to attach the haemonculus to your grotesques (unless we're talking 8th ed), you might want to think about cutting 1 grotesque to keep the whole unit under 5 models for consistency with rampage.

I actually believe i will be using your list going forward into 8th edition. No need to worry about cutting a grot since independent characters cannot join units anymore, but still provide buffs. Thank you for the suggestion as as always great feedback.

If we are talking 8th edition i will probably be able to cut the lhamean and the venom along with a harmonculus from the grotesquerie, unless the buff in the new rules is so stupendous that i want 2. I think i will probably add a flyer at that point i am crossing my finger and hoping the void raven bomber gets an improvement.

What if you put a cronos together with the haemy and walk them behind the line of grots?

I am not footslogging grots across the board. That has always been a historically bad idea. The wwp bomb would be viable, but with characters no longer able to join units i will have to see how the mechanics changed.

I am personally going for a revised ctc with a couple of taloi an a cronos with some haemys attached, and an equivalent to a grotesquerie. If we are lucky wwp will be a standard wargear available for every unit.

Wwp probably wont be standard for all units. I may possibly run 3 units of 5 grotesques. Then get 2 haemonculi to open up 2 more free venoms. I was not a cronos fan outside the dark arisan last year. I felt like it really underperformed at times loved the model but the rules were a bit meh.

The 4+ fnp was nice, though.

It was unfortunate that it only had a range of 6 inches if it were 12 inches than it would have been a real devastating. Hopefully 8th offers up something good.
