| This is one that came up yesterday - my wyches were doing a sterling job tarpitting a defiler, and one of them was carrying a shardnet and impaler. Does the minus one attack affect dreadnoughts? Because they fight like infantry, but my friend thought it didn't make sense that a wych could entangle one of the weapons when it's a super strong machine. However, it fights like infantry. | |

| It fights like infantry - and more importantly is an enemy model with an Attack characteristic.
As long as the Wych with Shardnet is in base to base with him - he's an enemy model (note, not enemy infantry, or all enemy models except vehicles - model), in base contact - thus he fights with 1 less attack (to a minimum of 1).
The only triggers are; enemy model base contact with model that has the shardnet has an attack characteristic that can be lowered by one.
Dreads are affected - and indeed this is one of the single best uses for the nets. We can also entangle Trygons, living Avatars made of magma, and Star Gods - we can certainly entangle a piddly Walker. | |

| ^Absolutely^ In the previous edition I believe that they couldn't do it to a vehicle. In the new codex the shardnet is absolutely as stated by Thor above. They RULE against Dreads/Defilers. | |

| Heh heh heh, I can see me fielding more of those! Especially since hydra gauntlets have let me down previously and half of the effectiveness of Razorflails is negated by rolling Painbringer for drugs Thanks. | |

| I'm actually a little shocked that they made them that good in the new codex. Too bad everyone at the LFGS plays mech lists with absolutely no dreads or defilers | |

| I love how a little net can slow down a defiler | |
